Ditto, never seen. I think the closest I have seen is about 2 weeks.

They come from the National Pool. Top 150 receive an appointment. Often, this is how you see vey highly qualified candidates get in from very competitive areas. After the 150, USNA can pick whom they want to round out a class. They must be 3Q with a nom to be appointed. This is also how multiple...

    Outgoing / Incoming MOC

Normally the outgoing MOC submits. The incoming MOC absorbs whatever status appointees they have at each SA, so it does not start over again.

    I-Day Prep Guide???

The permit to report packet will have a packing list. It will come out to appointees in early to mid April.

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

It’s a generic form letter. For those that receive a TWE, let the admissions cycle settle, then reach out to your AO for an appointment. Many will give feedback on areas to improve.

Hangout: USNA Induction Day / I-Day Class of 2028: Thursday 27 June 2024

This will vary by Mid. Most have 2 blocks of training and 1 block of leave. They usually find their summer training blocks right before spring break (so last week). There is also a zero block that starts shortly after finals. A lot of athletes use this to maximize training as athletes tend to...

good EC to take to get in?

None of us know. It’s good you have them. Better than not having them. I think this is an area a BGO interview can help explain the shift in school and sports shift.

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

There is also the National Pool. Areas that are highly competitive will have many appointed from here. It’s why I have 6 appointed from one school. I have also seen 8-10 off a slate routinely get appointed in a highly competitive area. The area I currently live in we cover two districts. We...

    Portal updated to turned down

We always recommend that users be cautious posting any personal information. It’s why we have a disclaimer when folks sign up to not use names (used to happen alot). I also know we have a lot of parents on this site who are posting info about their children. All of it is done with good...

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

You cannot be charged to a MOC you are not nominated by. If you live in Kansas you can’t be charged to a MOC, any of them, in Maryland. Not how it works.

good EC to take to get in?

So much of this. My room mate at USNA was a genius. Rhodes finalist. PhD at 24. Not an athletic bone in her body. Had to work hard to do okay on the PRT. Like her coordination was so unbelievably bad I used to think she would hurt herself. There are more Mids like this than you would believe...

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

Remember the admissions committee is just one aspect. Most members are professors or other roles on the yard. So some may take time off as their schedule is regulated. Regardless of that, the appointments & nom committee is really where the big work is occurring. They are full time at that job...

    NAPS Report Date

Those who graduate NAPS and offered an appt to USNA generally report one day prior to I Day. NAPS induction day in Newport is usually around the 3rd week of July.

USNA Class of 2028 Waiting and Speculating

The likelihood is very high. They are coming out every week. We haven’t seen the mass updates we have in the past, but we will. I get updates from my AC each week. The machine is moving. This board is only a small % of those applying.

    Injury after appointment

Once he sees an Ortho and gets a full diagnosis, he will need to reach out to DoDMERB and admissions. I can’t speak to USCGA, but normally, USNA will issue an LOA for the next class and provide guidance on academics and staying out of trouble while getting healthy. Usually they don’t have to...

DS plebe needing psychiatric services "beyond" WP

Mental Health is no joke. You have not earned your spot in the long gray line or spent a single minute at a SA yet. You are making some bold assumptions that are not for any of us to make. Who said it’s severe? Only the therapist can make that call. Just because they are referring to someone...

    New Dant Announced

There was a streak between that time and the 15-20 year change where I think they nearly retired. Company Officer used to be a career killer as well and no longer is (community dependent). As we all know, things ebb and flow.

    New Dant Announced

The Dant position used to be a farewell tour. It was an end of career tour. That changed about 15-20 years ago. Now it’s a spot for a future Admiral who is projected to do big things. Most SEALs are more reserved and quiet professionals. Obviously the last decade plus has challenged that...

    Foundation Program USNA

You have spent several days now bemoaning the fact you got Foundation. Could you get pulled direct, maybe? The chances are extremely low. Don’t count on it. There is no getting on their radar. You have even stated your STEM grades aren’t great. You want to make your time at USNA better? Great...

    Foundation Program USNA

Foundation is like NAPS in the sense of complete the program succesfully, stay out of trouble, pass the PRT, stay healthy and your chances of an appointment are 99% at the end of the program. So I would say the chances of an appointment are higher from Foundation than they are from NROTC.
