It does. I spent a decent amount of time there since my brother attended UCLA. The Academy definitely has a lot less distractions.

It would’ve been tough. That’s just how ROTC and Service Academies are. I am very happy with my decision to attend the Academy.

I appreciate it. I honestly just felt it was my calling to go down this path of service. Plus, there is no place like the Academy. And of course I had to thank the community. You guys played a hand in me getting to this point.

Where would your NROTC Scholarship be placed? If your final goal is USNA, I say go to NAPS. But if all you want is an officer commission, it depends on other factors.

Sorry I mistook the meaning of LOA. I have not received one. I received a conditional appointment to the USNA Class of 2025. I apologize for the confusion.

Thank you so much for your input. These are some aspects of NROTC at UCLA that appeal to me. The increase of freedom is nice compared to a Service Academy. I will keep this in mind when making my decision.

I’m waiting on Medical and official LOA. I have received appointment, but still waiting on the previous mentioned items. Now I’m just deciding between USNA or NROTC at UCLA (Business Economics).

If you are referring to the Pre-candidate Questionnaire, then yes it’s normal for the response time to be longer than a week. I received confirmation after 2 weeks when I took it. Let me know if you have any other questions about the application. (I’m USNA Class of 2025)

I have not had the chance to visit. In terms of making my decision, I’m at a stalemate. I know that it’s a honor and unbelievable opportunity to attend USNA. But UCLA is also a great in its own right.
