2028 State Nominations Thread

DD checked her AFA application portal last night and saw "Illinois - Senator 82 Nomination received". She didn't receive an email or phone call but she did receive a letter from Senator Durbin stating that she did not get any nomintations from his office, so seems like to me she got the nomination from Senator Duckworth. Anybody else out there who got Senator 82 nomination?
Yes, I would guess that nom is from Duckworth. Congratulations!

Conngratulations! So, he received 2 nominations for USMMA? I thought the different MOC offices coordinate with each so they wouldn't waste any nominations because you only need 1 nomination for appointment. Maybe, my understanding is wrong. I know what you mean about asking too many questions. I had to ask though after the rejection letter from Durbin. There's still a long way to go but keeping our fingers crossed.
Thank you! And, congratulations 🎉 on the nom from Senator Duckworth! He did get two - which we were surprised by. Maybe it’s because not as many kids apply to USMMA? You are correct - he only needed one so thankfully he’s still in the game at this point. He hasn’t heard from Senator Duckworth yet, not even a decline but it’s all good. Now we wait 😊! Honestly, I really like the other Maritime Academies he’s applied to - just need to find my patience pill’s 😬😵‍💫 because I know it will all work out…. He’ll land where he’s supposed to….

Hi! I recently got an email notifying me that I received a nomination from Rep. Wexton. I wanted to ask how we find out if there is a principle nominee since our rep never posted a slate or even announced it publicly yet. The only thing I have thus for is an email and an update to my portal so I wanted to ask. Thank you.

The vast majority of MoCs do not use a principal nomination (with alternates) process. Your representative should have used the term "principal nominee" or "alternate nominee" if that specific nomination approach was used. You may also contact your repersentative's office to clarify this detail, if you desire. The good news is you have a nomination. By the way, I received an 'alternate' nomination along with an AFA appointment later -- the key word here is "nomination." Congratulations!

DS received an email today letting him know that Wittman (VA-01) is giving him a nomination to USNA. Needless to say we are thrilled to have that hurdle behind us. Good luck to all those still waiting.

Looks like nominations calls are starting to flow from Ohio Senators offices.....
Now my DS is going to be nervous…he received a call several weeks ago regarding the order of his preference from Vance’s coordinator. He will be impatiently waiting. I was hoping they would send letters.

Which senator did your DS hear from? We were told they work together so I’m assuming best case my DS will get a nom from 1 of them, but he’s definitely not counting on it.

Has anyone received anything from Rubio or FL 13 yet? It appears from prior years that Rubio doesn't notify either way?
No, I haven’t heard anything from Rubio, or Soto. If anyone knows when the nomination results will roll out, please reply.. thank you!
