AFROTC EA due date

We still don't have any of the issued items listed in the FTM other than blues items...don't have FTMs either lol. Supposedly they ordered everything we would need weeks ago, so hopefully we'll be able to get our duffle bags as soon as we hear about EAs.

Someone told me getting everything for bag drag is going to cost $300...somebody please tell me they were joking. Looking at that list I was thinking around $150 on the high end as long as you already have things like running shoes.

Hgdlyde, I know the Max dates are out, what I was asking (meant) was if the cadet would receive which Max they are going too when they found out they got an EA? This would help to know when making summer plans.

ohh yeah i was wondering why you were asking that because i would of thought of most people on here you would be one of the people who already knew that! sorry for the confusion. last year we received EA slots on 11 Apr and we got our max dates within a few weeks after that.
 
our coc told us today that EAs might not be out until next friday. I am beginning to wonder if they will ever come out.
 
Anybody else concerned that it might be tough to get everything together if we don't find out soon? It's gonna be hard around school and work to go and get some of this stuff for the bag drag with a closing time frame.

Beginning to look like your going to be able to have that Steak.

I thought the Army was slow in getting information out, I sympathize with all of you.
 
Our NCOs got a packet of info today with things like Max Dates, Atlanta airport info and a "cheat sheet" for traveling. Also mentioned their contact at HQAF figures they have them today but are waiting to release them next week due to the weekend. Who knows what's really going on, but good luck to all. Hopefully this weekend passes quickly.
 
Bag drag is still on for Tues at my son's Det. No other info besides that...

I'm not going to speculate... However, the thought of my son running loose in Wally World with my credit card makes me desire - a "beverage" - Maybe 2 - doubles...

Thought I'd share with my SAF Friends out there.....you know who you are...that I finally got some info from my DS in regards to EA's....

Thought about making a jingle out of it....but was reminded that many of you are not yet of the age to appreciate the Jagermeister.. besides there's not a whole lot of meat on the info...

Here we go:

Per my DS -

He heard today from the cadre that AF Headquarters finally came up with a number in regards to how many officers that they want to commission in 2016.

That these numbers are now in the hands of AFA AFROTCHQ and OTS (of desired commissioned officers for 2016). Those in command of AFA, AFROTC HQ, and OTS will hash out who gets what number.

Once that number is "divvied" up then AFROTC will know how many EA'S that they will have for field training.

Then and only then will the detachments be notified of EA results.

My guess that number of EA's is a percentage(higher) of the number of commissioned officers that they are to produce for 2016....ex 120%...not sure exactly what percentage of EA's actually make it thru to commissioning or what type of calculations they use to assure they do not come up short....
 
Gurk! I'm not a J.M fan - used to drink it in Germany as an after dinner digestive... GREAT for that!

Son still says they're doing this - I pointed out that some folks would have to do a bunch of returning if they didn't get a slot but he stated that "they couldn't wait any longer"... Plus he'll be gone to NATCON this weekend in DC so he's down to 1 week left in school sans finals so he really wont get another chance...

I haven't got the foggiest...

Man, this thread took me on a rollercoaster. I'm also waiting to hear about EA slots. Our cadre hasn't told us anything at all, though.

Too late! I had 2 shots for you and went to bed....I'm not normally a drinker, but in my old age I have learned that a shot or two of Jager.... works better for me than any sleep aid on the market.

I slept like a log last night.

My DS's detachment has dining out tonight....wouldn't it be a nice surprise (for some) if they used this time to announce EA's.

BTW.... Thanks to the addition of the newest member to SAF - ERAUMattroommates I'm going to have to watch what I post from now on.....
