AFROTC EA due date

Still no Max assignments at my DS's Det with the exception of two cadets that found out last week that they got Max 1 due to some specialty schools they will be attending afterward. Strange that the other 15 cadets have not found out anything yet? My DS was hoping for an early Max but that's starting to look like that's not going to happen. Oh well, he is just grateful to be going!

Those cadets that found out earlier than the others about Max 1 probably applied for the CRO training PDT, the ones that get accepted for it have to go to max 1 and then leave for CRO training right after.

We still haven't gotten our Max dates either, hoping they come this week so I have time find someone to trade with if I don't get the Max I need.

No max dates here either! Hope they get out soon. Just submitted some info to our NCO who said he needed it to make up our orders - so they must be coming out soon because they can't make our orders without the dates! :thumb:
 
MAX 1 for my son - just found out this afternoon. Great! he's a go for his internship for the rest of the summer!

My det received max slots today. 3 of us are going to max 1, other three are going to maxes 2, 3, and 4
 
DD's det got all their max slots today. Max 1 for her! It is still a tight schedule as she goes to Project Go Arabic language school 3 days after FT. Majority of her det is going to max 4.
 
I've noticed that no one has reported getting Max 5, just wondering if they may have cancelled it since there were so few EA's given out this year? Hoping my DS finds out something today on his Max assignment so I can plan a family vacation.

I really hope not, I leave next week for my project go program and won't get back until a week and a half before the start of max 5. Really hoping they give it to me instead of max 4 so I don't have to A) pay to change the date of my flight home and B) miss a good chunk of the end of my program. Hopefully if that happens my professors will be lenient and allow me to take the finals at a later date.

Nope. There are like 5 cadets at my Det. with MAX 5.:thumb:
 
Just heard from my DS and he said that he got Max 4. He is the only cadet from his Det going to Max 4, with the majority going to Max 3. He will get to spend his birthday at Camp Shelby this year, so that will probably be one birthday that he never forgets! Good luck to all the other cadets going, should be a fun summer.

Max 5 here :)

Only heard two others so far, one each Max 2 and 3.
 
Any FT cadet that wants to trade or knows a FT cadet that wants to trade a Max 1 or 2 for a Max 4 let me know and I will PM you my DS's contact info?
 
flyfightwin00, you are supposedly allowed too, but I believe there is a very short window to do so. My DS is double checking this with his cadre to make sure. As soon as you find out your Max let me know what you got, hopefully Max 1 or 2. :)

For real though, ROTC has ended for us already so I'm waiting for an email to tell me what max I'm getting.

But yes you are definitely allowed to trade Max's with another cadet. They can be from anywhere, you just A) Have to both want the other's max and have each other's info and B) Must trade with a cadet of the same gender as you. A guy with max 1 can't trade with a girl who has max 4. If you're lucky there'll be someone at your det who wants to trade with you, but generally people use facebook or sites like these to put it out there that they're looking for someone to trade max's with.
 
If there is an academic reason why then talk to the CoC. I believe aglagles,s DD switched hers because her major required her to take classes during the time she was suppose to be at Max.

If this is for personal reasons, I will be seen harsh now,
~ 60% selection rate, just be happy you are selected. I understand family functions, such as weddings, but this is going to be their life now.
~~~ They will not be able to return home for every special family occasion. There is no switching in the ADAF.

In the 20 months our DS has been ADAF, he has been home 10 days. His wedding is May 24th, he will be TDY until the 21st, go back to his base, and fly out the next day on the 22nd. He will be on his honeymoon until the 31st, and must report to his next TDY June 1st.

His wife will take a different plane than him on the return flight because of his TDY.

Hoping to see you there too :thumb:. I'm one of the 3 females that got selected at my det this year even though we had 11 going up for EAs, a record number of female FTP cadets for us, in the past 3-4 years at least.

As far as trading goes,

Of course you should only go to the CoC for academic conflicts. But if you have max 4 and want to go to max 1, have found someone somewhere who wants to trade just as badly even if the reason is not academic, go for it. There's nothing against it. You can't go to the cadre and say "Hey, I have a wedding to go to so can you change my max for me?", but if you go to them having done your homework with everything necessary to change, there should be no trouble at all. FT goes before everything happening this summer, but if you gather everything you need to trade and find someone on your own, it won't be held against you. Sure you can't be there for every personal thing when you go active duty, but if changes are allowed, why not try to be there for personal things now? Worst that can happen is they say no, best that can happen is you get what you want. You'll never know if you don't do your homework and ask.

It's best though if at least one of the people trading have to for academic reasons. They're not going to NOT approve it if you just want a more convenient max date but the cadet you're trading with needs your max because they have summer school.
