You ask the million dollar question. I believe that the early ones are given first because of the "No Brainer" factor. Then they finish up the LOA's. "No Brainer - Part Deux". Then after that, they wait until ALL applications are completed by the cutoff date and finish the scoring and such. Then, they go with the "Principle Nominations". Remember; there are those that if they get the principle nomination, they are pretty much guaranteed. They also finish up some of the OTHER categories. E.g. presidential, vp, ROTC, Prior Enlisted, etc... Then they figure out how many slots are left. They start at the top of the list with the highest overall scores and pretty much offer whatever is left. Then, because there will be quite a few who decline, they will offer more. This will go on most of March and into April. Then, as more decline, more will be offered. This can go on all the way up until June. It definitely sucks; especially if you are sitting there with multiple acceptances and they are also wanting a reply. Let alone getting deposits down for the dorm and such. later... mike....
