If I already have a service-connected nomination from my ROTC battalion, do I need to seek a congressional nomination as well? The USMA website wasn't very clear on this. Any and all advice for this future Army officer is greatly appreciated!

The USMA website, in bold print, says “Apply for every nomination for which you are eligible.”

Should you not get an offer of appointment based on your one nomination, you are still in play competing against others nominated by the same elected representative, and for any other nom you gain. It gives Admissions more flexibility.

It’s true you only NEED one nom, along with meeting other qualifications, to be a fully qualified candidate. But you WANT to have as many noms as possible, to increase your opportunity to complete.

Don’t give Admissions the opportunity to wonder why you didn’t invest the effort to apply for every nom for which you are eligible.
