I know that the USAFA has an appointee orintation in April. Does the Naval Academy have a similar program, or should I set up a weekend to visit through admissions. I have not done a CVW, so I have never visited Annapolis, which I need to do so I can make the right choice.

There really isn't any orientation you basically show up on I-day and it's welcome to the Academy now get in this line...
But if you can contact your RD and set up a CVW I highly suggest that!!
Good luck!

No appointee orientation. If you can't do a CVW, you can at least visit the yard on your own. I don't think Admissions sets up visits other than CVWs; they do have a daily open house but, honestly, it's more for folks starting or in the middle of the process than for appointees.

Congratulations on your offer of appointment! There is no orientation for appointees, and you really should visit USNA before committing. Check with your BGO or AC to see if there is a local midshipman at the academy who would give you a tour.

After I got my appointment, I called up my admissions rep who was happy to schedule me for the CVW which was either that weekend or the next weekend. I'd suggest doing that if possible.

Was this the regional director or your BGO? I know the CVW's go through the regional directors and I was planing on contacting mine.

When I expressed interest in going to a CVW to my BGO she talked to the regional director for me. I guess you could try your BGO first or just email your regional director directly. Either would prob work.
