Appointment Timeline and Question

Good evening,

This is my first time posting on the Air Force Academy Forums, so I apologize if I make any formatting mistakes. I am an applicant for the Air Force Academy for the Class of 2025. I completed my application back in early November, got a presidential nomination in October, and received a senatorial nomination a few days ago. Since I have other college application deadlines and acceptance deadlines to gauge, when can I expect to hear back for an appointment? Also, what are my estimated chances of receiving an appointment? Here are my surface-level stats: 4.4 GPA, 1430 SAT (720 reading, 710 math), top 12% of the class, multiple varsity sports, multiple ECs, leadership positions, and volunteer awards/academic awards. For the CFA, 76 ft basketball throw, 14 pull-ups, 8.2s shuttle run, 87 sit-ups, 63 push ups, and 7:07 mile. Is there anything else I need to know? Thank you, and have a great Christmas everyone!

The majority of appointments will be out by mid to late March and if you do not receive an appointment, you will know by April 21st. No one on here 100% knows your chances, however, I can tell you that your academics, CFA, SAT, and ECs look strong, and as long as you have covered all of your bases and have your backup plans ready, all you can do now is wait.

Thank you so much for the information. I believe some applicants have already received an appointment as early as November? Could there be a possibility that I could receive an appointment notification before mid to late March? Thanks!
 
There is so much information on this board that addresses your questions and much of it is recent - as in the last few weeks. I would suggest searching through the "Nominations" section - I think you'll find what you are looking for and then some. Good luck and congratulations on your noms!
 
Yes there is a chance. And if you have medical done the chance may be higher. I'm in the same place as you with everything being done. Most colleges will give you till April or you can always contact the college and ask for an extension.

Yes, I have the medical done as well. I'll keep that information in mind, thank you!

Here is a chart that shows how self-reported appointments accumulated over time for the last three classes and where we currently sit for the C/O 2025. March is the most popular month, but several appointees are still notified as late as the beginning of June for recent years. Each line ends at the date of the last self-reported appointment for that given year.

Of course, the people who post to this forum are probably not be a representative sample of the applicant population, so this information should be taken with a grain of salt.
