I have 2 bad grades on my transcript that are from a class, but it does not count towards my GPA. Will this affect me?

I would try and offset these by crushing it in all aspects for the next 6 months or so or until the applications are in and tallied. Then, you can take a deep breath, and start crushing it some more for BCT!

I may be totally wrong about this, but I believe they recalculate your GPA based on school quality information in your transcript. I'm also confident that your bad grades will be on your transcript (but you can investigate). There is no way of knowing how they will re-calculate your GPA and whether or not they'll include these grades. Bottom line... knuckle down my friend. If the school doesn't count the grade then they are supposed to be cake courses and I've no doubt you're goofing off, or at least not addressing the need for assistance in those classes.

Building on @kinnem, SAs care most about your actual transcript in the context of your school profile. That’s more important than GPA, which they know can be very misleading. They want to know that you took the hardest classes your school has to offer, and excelled in them. That’s the ideal candidate.

I got a 70 in a Spanish class in 8th grade that counted towards my class rank and GPA. I used the remaining years to work my tail off and make up for the mistake. As long as you have shown progress, effort, and learned from the mistake, they will understand. The admissions staff were very understanding for me!
