C/O '26 parents - place to commiserate and share. Roller coaster for the next 3 years!

Just heard that they the entire brigade will be shot gunned next year. :zip:And they will be creating 6 more companies to a total of 36. Does anyone know why? :wow: Anyone else heard this gouge?

... so just curious, have you seen the tv show drama, Men of Annapolis, debuted in 1956? I mentioned this to DW/DS and I got the Mid Stare and the 👀 🙄. I've watched several episodes and felt like all the Mids were in a Shakespearean play and canned dialogues.

Kid filled me in on his 12 week grades. Still holding steady and solid middle of the pack. And that's with requisite 3/C Physics, and three math classes (Calc 3, Matrix Theory, and Prob and Stat) as part of his planned major.

Considering that math was not really his strong suit in high school, he's kicking azz!!

Kid just said, and I quote, "Yeah. It's supposed to be brutal. It's proving all of math, basically." Things like, being able to mathematically explain why adding 2 even numbers equals an even number - proving it with all correct math notations. Sounds riveting. :p

Wow. How have I missed this. It is amazing to watch. While likely a wee bit inaccurate now...
I really like how they play the Blue and Gold as more of a quicker paced piece, more like a fight song after a touchdown.

Kid did a "boba mile" yesterday with either his company, or some shipmates. Think "beer mile" but with a solo cup of that nasty bubble tea instead of a beer. Drink, run a lap, repeat. Total of 4 drinks, 4 laps. Kid said his actual running splits equated to a 5:20 mile. With the nasty drink, totaled right around 7:00. Hauling azz, especially considering the nastiness!

I asked if he puked. He said, not during, and not after, but on the way back to his room he made himself because he felt so bad!

... so I stopped figuring out how the Liberty process works because DS was off the last two weekends leading to Thanksgiving weekend. It's all good. But when he says, "I'm busy," he's really busy.
On another note, USNA had a series of victories over Army: rugby, volleyball, and sprint football.

Mine just got back from tour with Glee Club in MN. Had a good time - but again, is "really busy" and lots of work. Not very talkative! Sounds a bit like he is in the middle or continuing the "grind".

... so busy that when we pick up his laundry it's a simulated touch and go carrier landings. The trunk is left open, drive by the dorm entrance, and he drops off the laundry. No chitchats, hugs, and hellos. The only real break starts around 1900 when he picks up a plate meal from the mess hall and working out. He eats dinner in his room while doing homework. Hits the rack around 2300 and wakes up 0500.

You do his laundry?

Mine has not had a weekend of in the last month between Duty, Football, All Saints concert, Veterans conference in DC and MN tour. Glee club sure seems to be singing a lot this year. I believe the speciality choirs are singing at another event in DC tonight.

Kid found out he didn't get any study abroad this round (Summer or Fall). Little bummed, but there will still be other chances.
