Every applicant gets one of these forms, the applicants high school counselor/advisor checks over the form and signs it and it is sent back to CC. It is the way CC verifies the applicants information.

I knew that blog post would come in handy eventually. I'm still trying to figure out the impact of the CBEF. It's not something you can study for or "game". It's part of the online application. Remember that every applicant should take it, so you will arll be subject to whatever impact it has on your chances.

Hope that helps.

Clarkson,

Thank God for you and your blog. I learned more about the CBEF in your blog than I have ever could imagined.

Most enlightening were these two things:
~Civilian Background Experience Form – a 92 question form designed to determine a high school applicant’s aptitude to complete ROTC and commission as an officer.

Having done forms like this for employment, I am going to guess some of the 92 questions are asked/posed differently to see if the applicant answers the same regardless.

~Board Whole Person Score – 1400 total points possible. The CBEF counts for 250 points or 17.8% of the WPS.

That is a huge amount, and candidates need to understand this is not a fill in a bubble form or whatever, it can mean the difference between getting a Congrats letter or an At this Time letter.

Just curious, but how will the PAR, PFA and rec work in regarding points. I have read that AROTC was going to follow AF/NROTC regarding STEM, is that true and will it also be a factor? Or is major a non-player.
