CFA File Confusion

Hello all,
Four months ago, I took my CFA and everything went great and I did really well on it. I also paid strict attention to form, and filmed the videos exactly how I was supposed to. Once it was submitted, it was soon marked "Completed" in my file. Flash forward to now, mid december, and it suddenly changed to pending and it says that it is now under review for some reason or another. Will they tell me to retake it after even four months of silence? or should this not be something to freak out about?
Thank you so much, and if you have had a similar, and hopefully resolved problem, I would love to hear about it :)

My FFR has informed me that USMA is just behind on reviewing videos. I've got the same situation right now, so I hope for everyone's sake it is resolved soon.

There’s no issue. This is directly from my RC

"Ultimately, your videos will be reviewed by several people at West Point before your entire file, including the videos, goes before the West Point Admissions Committee. Everyone who reviews your videos will have to agree upon the correctly performed number of reps (according to the standards in the CFA instruction booklet), which will then become your official number in your file"

That’s why it has changed from complete to pending.

Oh wow, so this is a widespread issue. That's both comforting and a little scary haha. Did your RC say what happens if for some reason they say the file doesn't meet standards, would they expect you to retake it in such a short time?

The RC does a preliminary screen to see if you meet the minimum CFA standards. Then the committee reviews the video to determine the EXACT amount. For example, it could be the difference between 64 correctly executed push-ups or 63 correctly executed push-ups. The specific amount.

No need to worry. If you haven’t gotten a notice to retake, you passed.

Thank you, that eases my mind a bit🙂

Wait so that means if it has turned to pending after being green for a while means that the rc has already seen the scores and the videos right?

Correct. If it has been green for awhile you passed. When I took my CFA, my videos were green for like one day and then my RC reached out to me to redo my pull-up video. If you didn’t pass or they wanted you to redo a portion, they would have notified by now.

hope this helps.

Sounds like you have your answer, but I would recommend continuing to work out as though you were training for the CFA. You want to stay uninjured and healthy, but you want to be 100% ready for that brutal summer.

If my foot moved a little in the pullups video, not really kicking but swaying, will they discount it?

No idea. I moved a little but my CFA is still yellow so idk. If anyone knows that would be great

My CFA is still yellow but my 2 videos are both green. Anyone know what the timeline to turn green is?
I performed my CFA the last week of July and had my two videos as green and if I remember correctly I think a few weeks later my CFA was green but in my portal now it says "(Nov. 4, 2020)" next to the CFA checkmark so maybe that's when they physically qualified me for 3Q because that's around the time I got that letter too. Either way I think it definitely takes a few weeks for Admissions to review and approve the test.

so I got an loa. I submitted my videos weeks ago but they still say pending. I’m worried that if they get reviewed and fail I will lose my loa bc it’s past the two months.
