I am wondering how I did on my CFA. I met the goal on two of the events and came fairly close on the rest of them.

BB Throw: 57'
Pull ups: 10
Shuttle run: 9.1
sit ups: 75
push ups: 63
mile run: 5:39

Do you guys think that I passed?

I'd like more on the toss but you're fine.

Hey massachusetts23, could you tell me how you conditioned/trained for these events? I know I am kind of young, and I have to still grow my muscles, but what did you do to get these scores? I am struggling on the push-ups and the pull-ups, and any running tips? I run XC, but I would love to run a 5:39 mile, that's really fast! To me, at least.

@massachusetts23, follow up on advice from @fencersmother. Use the search function above to find the many, many threads on training for the CFA. This will allow you to learn from the wisdom of crowds rather than just one person who may or may not have done it right.

CFA scores:
B-Ball Throw: 77
Pull-Ups: 18
Shuttle-Run: 7.9
Sit-Ups: 95
Push-Ups: 72
Mile-Run: 6:06

I am 5'11and 143 lbs. What I did to help me get these scores were 300 push-ups (3x100), 300 sit-ups (3x100), and 114 pull-ups (3x38) a day for 4-5 weeks leading up to my CFA. It sounds like a lot more than it is, but if you split it up throughout the day, it isn' much. For the shuttle-run and mile-run, I didn't practice but 3-4 times. Since you run XC, I am sure the mile will be quite easy for you. You will be fatigued by the mile, so if you are practicing and getting a 5:45 mile you will probably end up getting a 5:55 mile by the end. For the b-ball throw, it was all about form, rotation, and exerting my whole body. I constantly practiced my form: I started practicing at 61' then towards the end I was getting around 75'.

Thanks, usnausafa2023! Do you mean to do 3 sets of 100 pushups, 100 situps, and of 38 pullups throughout the day or to do pushups, situps, and pullups until I reach the 300 or 114?

DS alternated 100 pull-ups, 300 situps, and 300 pushups every day for 10 days prior to the CFA (he was working out prior to this)

He alternated one day doing the sets all at one time with no rest in as few sets as possible and the other day doing the sets throughout the day just making sure to hit the total.

Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe it’s more than just pass/fail.

My DS’s ALO recommended to try and max every area of the CFA. He implied your CFA score converts to points towards your WCS. So my DS basically practiced most of the CFA in order every other day at 100% effort. And the ROTC PT on the even days. Right before dinner. Almost every day.

In a few months he went from average to max in most areas. The BB throw gave him some trouble, but went from 75ish to over 100 in that time.

Lots of YouTube videos to help and willingness to look a little silly with his friends shagging basketballs will help.

If he can do it, so can you. Nothing worth having is easy.

I took mine for USAFA the same day as my friend, and two days later a letter was posted for him that said he needed to retake. I didn't get that letter, instead I was contacted for an Evaluator Interview
Awesome, thanks. I took my CFA 10 days ago, and I have not been asked for a retake. I got contacted and did the ALO interview, and now my application is "complete except for a nomination". I assume this means I passed.
