I have a few questions on the CFA.
1. Does it have to be all in one sitting without rest? Like can I do 5 pull ups in a row and then stay in the resting pull up position for a couple of seconds to catch my breath before resuming? It says to continue until you cannot do a repetition but below it says to keep counting the current number if you cannot keep doing the reps on time. (Same question with the pull ups/sit ups)
2. Can I wear a watch to keep a pace on the mile? It does not provide any unfair advantage.
3. Are the push ups 'military style' (triceps) or can I do the common 'elbows out' push ups?
4. Each academy has a different CFA instruction sheet but can I submit the same score to more then one service academy or do I have to do the CFA again for each academy?

Have you searched online? I found this with a simple Google query — took all of 25 seconds — and it seems credible and up to date.

To answer your question, it’s cadence pull-ups. You’ll do them to a rhythm set by your proctor, based on your completion of the upward and downward phases.

You can wear a watch on the run.

You can submit the same CFA results to all SAs. But USMA has the strictest standards because they require a video of the pull-ups and push-ups. So make sure you do them strictly, as USMA prescribes, if you’re applying there.

As for push-up form, read the link I provided above.

Yes, sorry I was looking at the USMA and USNA ones instead of the USAFA one. I still don't get the push up form since both of them have your hands near your shoulders with a 90 degree angle. Also your response to my first question means I cannot rest in a dead hang position for the pull ups and a push up position for the push ups etc. correct?

You can rest in a dead hang for the pullups. You can also go to a downward dog position to rest during the pushups, although you cannot pick up your hands. As for the specific push-up form, I don't think a PE coach will care or count you off. HOWEVER, when you take the PFT here, which by the way is significantly more difficult so make sure to continue working out, your form is extremely important. The upperclassmen grade you here and they can be merciless to doolies.

Yes, I believe that my coach will likely count the standard push ups. As the other person has said, will I be disqualified if I submit the video recording of the push ups to USMA since I will be applying there as well?

You are responsible for the researching and complying with all the individual service academy requirements. Rather than risk your CFA being discounted if you are not compliant, don’t guess/assume or ask an anonymous Internet unofficial forum, be proactive and contact your Admissions points of contact with any questions about who can administer, what is required, etc., and plan accordingly. That’s what future junior officers do - be thorough, be precise, get the correct answer, get it done the right way the first time, whatever that is.
Just keep at it!

Sorry I got confused because the figure in that guide (Figure 16) shows the 'standard' push ups but it shows the tricep one in the other CFA guides and I am not sure if it showing that figure in case it is different for women or something.

USAFA wants you to know what to do in all aspects of the process. While these forums are helpful, they don't substitute for your own research. The instructions on the CFA take up the majority of the pages in the "Instructions to Pre-Candidates" and "Instructions to Candidates". There is even a video on the subject. Go to www.academyadmissioins.com. I found the instructions a bit hard to find so go to www.academyadmissions.com/contact/admissions-resources/ and download the Precandidate Instructions or Class of 2026 Candidate Instructions. Make sure your bowser settings allow downloads.
