Chicken Sandwich War of 2021

Last week, our school had its annual homecoming football game. Our school played a far superior opponent, and we were losing 28-0 by halftime. Bored and hungry, my friends and I decided to go eat before fast food joints in our area closed for the night. Yours truly had the bright idea to visit as many chicken sandwich establishments as possible in one night. We went first to Popeyes, then Chick-fil-A, followed by Burger King, KFC, Carls. Jr, so on and so forth. Three hours, 40 dollars, and gallons of gasoline later, we found ourselves in a chicken sandwich induced food coma. Upon completion of this intensive "experiment," I can say that my personal favorite chicken sandwich comes from Popeyes (spicy with extra pickles), followed by Chick-fil-A. KFC "chicken little's" aren't too shabby either.

I agree with you on the taste, but in my area, the Popeyes is so horribly run, that we hesitate to even go there.

So who loves the Chick Fil A Chicken Biscuit? 🖐

I rejoice when I realize: 1) It’s not Sunday 2) I have an errand or appointment that has me out and about before 10.

I can eat about 2.5. The dogs also rejoice.

Lol I don’t have Chick Fil A around me - so I have been limited to Annapolis trips.

Several months ago my son called to tell me to try the biscuit. He said it is the best.

I've tried both Popeye's and Chick-fil-a.

I got food poisioning from the popeye's sandwhich... so... Chick-fil-a is far superior.

I like both places. Popeyes clearly tastes better (to me) but it leaves me feeling a bit queasy from oil overload. That said, Popeyes also has red beans and rice which wins over waffle fries and their regular chicken is so tasty.

Chick fil a near us is runs like fine swiss clockwork. Popeyes and drive thru here means missing item adventure.

The queasy comes from the half-inch application of mayo they slather on. Disgusting.
Next time order it with nothing but pickles. You'll be glad you did.

For fast food, I'm a big fan of Chic-fil-a. The food is decent, but I'm more impressed by the service, friendliness, and the cleanliness. The others are all crapshoots depending on the franchisee.

DS has been working for Chick-fil-A for over a year now while he waits to start college in January. He has worked his way up to Assistant Director of Night operations. They hire top kids. And they don’t just sell franchises to anyone. They award franchises mostly to people who have worked their way up in the company and proven themselves worthy. And there is a very low buy-in if you are one of the chosen to get a store. Great company!

Back in February I returned to a large Forbes 100 company after a solo stint. All things being equal, I'd hire someone with Chic-fil-a experience over someone without. Just outstanding customer service and attitude.

DS is fortunate that the franchise owner is a great boss and has recognized his talent. A good mentor. The owner was just awarded another store that DS is going to help him open. DS’ experience as XO of his NROTC unit and drill team commander has helped him learn about managing people. He is already starting to be involved in hiring and training. This job is great experience. But really, this kid is just a “people person” and leadership comes naturally to him. He is the 180 degree opposite of his brother.

Yes, there are definitely natural leaders out there. It's great to hear he has a mentor that is giving him opportunities. For his brother, I'm betting there are strengths he can bring to the table that are untapped yet. I'm a big fan of Clifton Strengthsfinders. You may find the one son has other areas of potential.

THIS ZOMBIE THREAD DESERVES RESURRECTION!!
