Chicken Sandwich War of 2021

Well, DS just came home on break from Chick-fil-A (we live a mile a way) and reported that in addition to the scholarship, he just got promoted to a team leader position and a raise!!!! I LOVE CHICK-FIL-A!!!!!

We do too! We start visiting them years ago when we were traveling south to OBX. It's amazing what friendly customer service can do for your opinion of a place. Oh, and CONGRATULATIONS!
 
Customer service complaint. Maybe a team leader can help me.

I spent the weekend with my son at the chess tournament in NJ. On way back today I debated taco bell and chik fil-a. I haven’t had chicken sandwhich in a long time - and stopped. 30 freaking minutes in drive thru for my sandwiches and waffle fries.

I have heard they are all like that. Excellent decision but what a wait for fast food.

They are all very crowded. But they move a TREMENDOUS number of customers through. They really do the best that is humanly possible. The profits must be enormous.

What I do is order through the App and park in an area that is away from the drive through line. They bring your order to the car. Much more pleasant.
 
Panera Bread has entered the Chicken Sandwich War. And DS has earned another promotion to Manager at Chick-Fil-A, where he will be working part time until he starts university in January. He is getting good experience in leadership/management. In addition to supervising, I think he is going to be involved in hiring and firing.
 
Tried a new Bojangles Chicken Sandwich this week; their answer to Chick-fil-A. Pretty tasty and since they're 20 miles closer, a reasonable alternative.

We have about 12 Chick-Fil-A's here, depending on the day/time they're either ridiculously busy or not at all. It's taken me between 5 to about 20 minutes in the drive thru.
 
I used to think CFA had the best chicken sandwiches. For a chain I would still say yes.

There's a place near me that started as a food truck and has added a permanent location now. They do Korean food, particularly Korean fried chicken sandwiches. They've got tempura batter and the hot sauce shows a bit of kimchi heritage, and my heavens are they good. Not a chain, but if you're in St Paul any time they're worth a stop.

EDIT: I see they've added Chandler AZ as well. Good news for folks in the desert.

My favorite Cajun PoBoy place used to have a thing on FaceBook that said if you ask for "FaceBook Crumbled Baconz (with a "z") we will add crispy crumbled bacon to any sandwich for free".

So I would lean in and whisper at the register "FaceBook Crumbled Baconz Pleaze" so as not to let the person behind me in on the secret. I mean, if everyone knew, they could run out of baconz. That would be bad.

I may make it my mission to find the best chicken sandwich in town whenever we pay DD or DS a visit wherever they’re stationed. Stand by for reports. And if I run into some good bacon, I’ll report on that too. 😉

You should also try Chi Mc in Vienna. They only serve their chicken sandwich on weekdays at lunch, however.
