Congrats for your newest plans!

I am so utterly impressed by the young men and women on this forum and am beyond delighted that my son will have the honor of serving with the quality of future cadets that I have witnessed over the past 6 months. For those who did not receive the appointment, please do not give up. You are all so talented that you will bring honor to the military, whatever the path you take to your destiny. I am in awe of you all and will continue to keep you in my prayers as your new journeys begin...
My best to every single one of you. Thanks for all of your posts, that have heped everyone to get through this challenging process of waiting...

TWE here too

DS received a TWE today.:frown: Thank you Insider for the small warning, it did help to cushion the fall. I was concerned how DS would take it but he said he kind of expected it at this point and then went right to work on his ROTC stuff (that oddly arrived the same day)! He's a great kid! I know he won't give up. He is a true leader through and through, never quits, and always keeps his goals in focus. His whole CAP squadron will be scratching their heads in disbelief. They all thought there was no way he wouldn't get an appointment. Now he will have to go to work encouraging all of the younger kids that just saw how hard he worked and did not get in.

Thanks to everyone on the forum for the information, words of encouragement, prayers and humor that helped me get through the past several weeks. I have enjoyed knowing we weren't alone in the wait. Congratulations to all of you that have secured a spot in the class of 2016! Work hard and stay strong, we are all pulling for you!:thumb:

For all of you that have received the bad news, remember to have a long term outlook. I know the day the TWE arrives is a difficult day. You are all such wonderful young adults and you will achieve so many things for our great nation. Stay in touch on the forum and let us know what you are doing. We're pulling for you too!!!

Sorry about the TWE but congratulations on the AFROTC Type 1. Obviously a great kid that will be successful.
 
I also received a TWE when I got back from track today. I walked in, and my mom said "it's here." I didn't see any large envelope so my first response was "oh no!"

When I opened it, I was disappointed but I am very lucky to have made it this far. I plan doing AFROTC at Drake as well as reapplying next year for sure, and congratulations to all those who have been selected! You guys really deserve it! Thanks for everybody's support and words of encouragement along the way!

Why are you expecting a TWE? Maybe you will get a BFE!
 
What a day....

Not much else to say, we all knew that things were going be settled this week, but it is heartening to see so many people handle themselves with such grace.

When I become a pilot I hope that the forum admin will let me change my name to "LFly94" :cool:
 
I was also unfortunate enough to receive a TWE after being waitlisted, yet I am still very excited to continue on with my dreams of being an Air Force officer through AFROTC at a private university. Good luck to the rest of you that are waiting!
 
Ds got non select letter today,postmarked 4/6. So disappointing. Worked so hard as all candidates have. Moving on. Good luck to all of you still waiting.

It is possible and I will be incredibly grateful for it if it happens! But I am okay if it does not. There is always next year, and looking at the bunch of people I will be reapplying with it doesn't look like too bad of an option. Regardless of the route we choose, we will all be on the same team, and that in itself is something to look forward to. :thumb:

I have been so impressed by your optimism, insightfulness, maturity, support of others and compassion for them. I'm happy to see that you are moving ahead full steam with Plan B and are committed to reapplying to USAFA. I will be saying prayers for your future success. Thank you for staying committed and choosing to serve this great country.

btw: I hope my son gets to meet you next summer (2013) when you show up for BCT at USAFA. :thumb:

Good luck haleym. So happy you and several others on here have the right attitude to deal with this level of competition. It speaks volumes of your character and determination. Hope to see you reapply if that is the path you truly desire.

Thanks for your words of kindness. I can't wait to get the chance to serve with your son, as well as the rest of the people here. Trading a comfortable lifestyle for a life of service is so worth it when you get to spend it with outstanding, trustworthy people.

Thank you for your kind words! The support from everyone on here is so useful because you really understand and sympathize with what we're going through. I am incredibly grateful for the friendships I've made with you all through this journey, and it's not even close to over yet! Praying for everyone else still waiting anas well as for those of you who received TWEs, hoping you will get a slot at AFAPS or a Falcon Scholarship. There is certainly no one else more deserving than those on this thread!
