Class of 2019 Nomination/Appointment Thread

Out of curiosity, does anything change on the Candidate Info page, or does the BFE just show up in the mail one day? My DS has a principal nomination from one of our senators, and the senator told my DS that he would get a phone call from his office before he heard anything from USNA. Just wondering if any info shows online?
 
DS first learned last year via text from MOC liaison. Good luck to your DS! I only hope your family is not as stressed as we were this time last year.

No matter how it ends up your DS will probably wonder what his life would have been like if he traveled the other path. Our DS says, only sometimes....I think, "I love where I'm at, but I wonder what college would have been like?"

Any young man or woman who gets to where your DS is, possess all the tools necessary to succeed wherever he/she goes!

Congratulations for a parenting job done right.

From what I can see, nothing shows online. A BFE just shows up in the mail one day.

I was informed 21NOV14 of my NAPS appointment that I received with a Secretary of the Navy nomination. I can't wait to see who will be going to class with me come July.

Congratulations AE3! Very exciting for you!! Would you mind sharing your stats (test scores/gpa) so we can see what gets a candidate into NAPS for this class? Do you know if you were triple Q`d? Are you a recruited athlete? NAPS is great and I'm happy to know they have started identifying candidates for that! How did you find out, e mail? The waiting is over! Enjoy your time remaining and congrats!

I'm guessing prior service based on his/her user name, which appears to be an enlisted rating.

You would guess right, I'm currently enlisted. I was medically qualified through DoDMERB, and I did decent on my CFA is all I really know on that end. My grades in high school were far less than exemplary, but I had started taking class and studying hard while I'm in to help strengthen my package. My ACT scores were a 24 in Math and 29 in English.

My CO called my shop Friday afternoon when he had gotten the phone call from the academy along with the envelope of everything I need to send in. I'm very excited to start later next year and for everything I've heard about NAPS.

Congrats. You're the perfect NAPS candidate. A year at the prep school should go a long ways toward helping you with your math. Don't take if for granted. Work hard, those math classes at the Academy are difficult and there's no way around them.

I originally did not have a serviceacademyforums account, but I had to make one to ask you a quick question. I'm also enlisted, a Corpsman, and I also am applying to the academy. My scores are about the same as yours, I'm just finishing up my DoDMERB portion. I already have a SECNAV nomination. My question is, how long after you submitted everything did it take for you to hear word back?

DD went to a meet and greet with our Congressman today (FL-21) and was awarded a nomination to USNA. Came home, checked the mail and found a letter from Senator Rubio with a nomination to USNA as well. A good day! She already has an appointment to USAFA with a Presidential nom but USNA remains her first choice. Hoping her odds are considerably better now with three noms in place! Proud USAF dad!!!
