Conditional Offer (LOA)

Will candidates receive a hard copy of the offer of appointment in addition to portal "accept/decline" offer? DS's portal has the offer but have not received a letter yet.
Yes, it should be in the mail shortly. Congratulations to your son!

That beautiful BFE may come long after the offer of appointment in the portal. It is lovely and photo worthy. But in the meanwhile that ‘accept-decline’ screen is pretty dang cool.

Congrats.

Roughly how long was it between CIS updating to display complete DODMERB and receiving the full offer?
I believe you should've at least gotten an email based on reading the experience of the others. Check spam/junk if you don't see it. My DS still waiting on the decision from USNA. He did get the BFE to USMA and that took about 1 full week to show up, but not sure about USNA timeline.

USNA's BFE took about 1-2 weeks to show up for me

Watching DD click on ACCEPT was a very cool experience. We have no idea where the BFE is now. 😉

I got the LOA letter and email, I was curious the time between fulfilling LOA req's and the portal updating to a full appointment. As with this entire process, patience seems to be the best answer!

Took about a week after my son fulfilled the conditions to get the appt, then another week to get the BFE. But I’m sure that differs for everyone.

It asked took a week for me to receive the portal update

If any of y'all had to get a waiver (with an LOA), how long did that process take you? I haven't heard anything back from either USNA or DoDMERB since they originally told me they were processing a waiver. I know they are definitely busy at the moment, but any timeline or estimate would help a lot!

It took some reaching out to USNA medical for my son to find out his waiver was approved last year. But it sounded as if he actually got it a month or so after he received his LOA (got that the day after Thanksgiving, found out his waiver was actually in place near the beginning of the new year). He just didn't actually find out for a few months and digging into it on his own because the portal wasn't updated. He didn't fulfill his LOA as he never got a nomination, so no appointment.

This year (no LOA), he just followed up a bit earlier in the cycle with the medical group after receiving the DoDMERB notification that his file had been submitted back to the USNA, and they reinstated his medical approval as nothing had changed since last year. They used the same waiver.

I went waiver review on 12/13 and waiver was granted 1/7. This was a month to a month and a half ago now so timing is likely a bit different now, but hope this helps a bit.
