Daughter asked to complete DODMERB in first month of college/AFROTC

Daughter is in AFROTC in freshman year of college. Was in JROTC in HS. Has now been asked to do DODMERB. Any ideas why? Should she discuss this with instructors?

Being asked to go through the DoDMERB process is a good thing!

This is because she cannot receive a contract to commission as an Air Force officer without first passing DoDMERB. The Air Force is not going to contract someone who has not passed medical requirements.

Being in JROTC has nothing to do with college ROTC requirements.

Remember that DoDMERB is on the government's dime, so it won't cost your daughter anything except for gas to get to the government contracted physician and eye exam.
