Disappointment in President’s unprofessionalism

I decided to wait until the game was over to post this. But did anyone notice that POTUS was wearing a “Keep America Great” hat to the Army Navy game? I don’t care if you personally support/will vote for him or not. He should not have worn his own self-promotional gear to this type of event. This is no place to push your political campaign. This type of conduct is completely unprofessional and honestly, I was embarrassed to see that. Very very disappointed.

What do you all think?

My girlfriend and I noticed it when we were watching too. (You don't know her, she goes to another school)

Personally, I think it was disrespectful for him to insert his agenda into a game that's supposed to be about something else. Reminiscent of his speech at the BSA Summit.

I'm grateful he went. Not all presidents make it a habit to attend and President Trump has attended 3 years in row (if you count when he was President elect).

Agreed, this game was not campaign rally. Just as the military are supposed to be apolitical, the President in his role as Commander in Chief, should be also.

But that is never going to happen with this President, so...whatever.

@GoBears22, @Jarhead713, I really try and shy away from political comments on these forums, this is just not the place for them. You should keep you political comments for political forums....JMHO

I think that your comment makes the point of the original poster. The game is nonpartisan. It is wrong to insert partisanship into the game. Period.

There ARE people out here in this big country of ours who can simultaneously support the president and dislike an inappropriate display of partisanship.

Really? Why the hell would anyone bring this special event down with this crap?

I will bow out now.
My comment was in the very same spirit as the comment to which I responded. The subject was support for the military (a topic NOT related to the original poster's comment.) There is more than one way to consider any commander in chief's support for the military. I get that the pardons are very sensitive, but they are sensitive precisely due to their significance.

Having said that, surely hope you do enjoy these games. They are quite a competition, regardless of outcome.
