First Board Results

Yes, waiting sucks... but 90% of what you'll do in the Army is waiting. The other 10% is paperwork!!!!

Don't get discouraged if you're not selected, there's always tons of opportunities down the road!!
 
We are going to sit back and relax. We are not expecting to get the scholarship. NROTC-MO is very selective and not many slots on the first board. DS has been accepted to Plan B school and we will be o.k. with or without a NROTC-MO scholarship. I told DS that whatever happens, I am proud of him for applying.
 
Building on what @NJROTC-CC said: Be productive during the wait by working on Plan B, C, D, etc. No matter how competitive you may be, or how confident you are, it’s always good to have a fallback plan and options. Life is full of twists and turns, so hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

Also, rather than checking your portal obsessively — whether for ROTC or SA — go spend quality time with your family. In a very short while, you won’t be around them and you’ll miss them more than you think.
 
I was boarded day 1, my name starts with an M, and I completed my application the first week of October. Sorry for breaking the trend....

This is good news, however... My DS changed from Board ready to Boarded in October last year and she didn't receive scholarship until the last board... The wait was excruciating. Good Luck
 
From reading over previous posts, I noticed that your "School of Intent" tab locking a few days after the October board was typically a good sign. Has anyone seen this on their application yet?

I have been checking almost every hour!😅! but haven't noticed a change yet. I think from what I read earliest results should be Friday.

My DS was told, "the results for the first board should be posted by the end of the week." What does it look like when the school of intent locks? Is it like the current CBEF tab looks as complete?

It means DS can’t make any changes to his school choices/order.

Last year there was a message posted in red at the top of the School of Intent page indicating changes could not be made at this time (I forget the exact language). You could also not move any of the schools listed up or down in your rankings if you tried to drag them up or down on the list.

That's what I thought. So far nobody has seen this yet this time around though. Or at least nobody has said anything.

How long after the board did the school of intent page lock last year? And how long after that did you see results? Thanks!
 
Last year it was toward the end of the week following the board (~ Thurs/Fri), with results posted for most people within 24-48 hours after the school of intent page locking.
 
Does it automatically lock if you are either a select or a non select for this first board?
 
Last year my DS' school of intent page did not lock in October and he was not selected. It did lock in January shortly before he received a 4-year scholarship.
 
My DD's AFROTC applications status changed to "reboarded".
Probably should have waited for second board, but she was so anxious to check this off her list.
