Gas Chamber at BCT?

There will be a tear gas chamber. There's plenty about it all across YouTube.

An enjoyable day that I am sure you will remember for the rest of your career and tell stories about to your friends. Maybe you will be the one in 1,000 who is not affected by CS Gas (there were three in my group at my training during the Jurassic but sadly it was not me) but if not you will have the cleanest sinuses you have ever had :) FlyFalcon is 100% correct, focus on what is not what might be and deal with whatever comes up if and when it does. You got this.

Listen carefully to what the instructors tell you for immediate post-exposure actions, repeat that in your head so that you know what to do right away to start clearing and recovering, even as the discomfort and other reactive feelings are battering your brain and spiking your adrenalin. It’s training protocol and muscle memory that are going to get you through future real-life situations.

As you stand in line - listen to the question(s) being asked of those in front of you. With a mask on - it is not a problem. When you get to the front of the line, you take off your mask and they ask you a question. I was ready! So ready! Ready for the question they asked the people in front of me that is................. but I got a different question (yikes). That mental pause to process what just changed and then get the answer worked out felt like an eternity.

Everyone lives. It's funny in the rear view.

I was chemical in my enlisted life. We got gassed so much in training that I became immune. Nothing like getting a CS grenade tossed about 5' from you in the field and just looking at it and thinking, I have a 3-second rush coming up...is it worth pulling out my protective mask?

I’m glad this topic is not as alarming as the title suggests.
Likewise. Had visions of The “Q”, otherwise known as San Quentin state prison in California.
SO much fun!!!
Happy to say I missed out on that “fun”. I only had to don a CBRN mask during general quarters. I know enough to stay away from public gatherings where law enforcement may have to use CS gas. I can imagine that it isn’t very pleasant. I’d rather have onions, or a sentimental event, make my eyes water.

Nothing like standing out in the field with your arms out and fluids pouring out of your nose until you are pretty sure that much fluid was impossible...... Then one of your "friends" manages to sneak some CS crystals into your gas mask while you aren't looking for your next run through the chamber. Good times :)
