My son just called from the parking lot after his MOC interview... he says he was stopped by the MOC Academy Coordinator prior to his interview to tell him it was "just a formality" and that he would be receiving a nomination for USMA.... since he has a LOA in hand for USMA he is IN! (right?)

I want to wait to celebrate when we get something in writing, but the interview was only 10 minutes or so, and she said.... SO, do we "bake a cake" and celebrate tonight???

Proudmama, still proud, a little less nervous!

Bake the cake. Then, give him a present: a roll of bubble wrap.
Congrats!!!

Go Army!!

Unless you are waiting for a medical waiver....

It's Official

Hip Hip Hooray!:thumb:

Son got the call from the MOC office that he does, indeed, have the nomination for USMA!!! He has a LOA and so we are excited and happy. He DOES still have the medical waiver to "work out" but we think this is a "formality" of the waiting period of 6 months following a hernia repair that seems to be "normal procedure"... in the meantime, we enjoy life, keep playing high school playoff football and loving every minute he is here with us... lots to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

(NOW, where do I get the important dates, like when we take him and parents' weekend?)

proudmama,

Congrats to you and your son! It must be sooo great to know this early where your son will be next year!!

Best of luck!

Dates are available at the top of the USMA forum page. Also probably on the website.

I searched the website unsuccessfully for anything for next year. I also saw this years calendar on the sticky, but it leads to a Parents' Group site (which is fine). Anything on the official site seems to be unavailable, at least for next year.

(NOW, where do I get the important dates, like when we take him and parents' weekend?)

Reception day is June 28, 2010.
Acceptance day is August 14, 2010.
If they follow the same pattern as the last two years, Plebe Parent weekend will be at the beginning of their spring break - March 2011.

NOTE - these are always subject to change so for official dates you will have to wait until USMA mails your son the information.
