Hospital point WITHOUT the nemesis of many midshipmen - The USNA Obstacle Course which had to run and passed every semester as part of Phys Ed. I'll bet that the number of "blown-out" knees that required surgery went down by 50% when they stopped it.
by the way, it was not a USMC style course - this was a unique/one off course with a passing time of 3 minutes and lots of up and down stuff where you could fall while trying to make up time.Your stats on blown out knees is probably on point. The O-course does cause some boo boos from time to time. DS shared that pic with me when the Marines brought some aircraft for display to Hospital point.
