How do I know if I passed the CFA

I got my coach to submit my CFA scores. It says received for West Point and Naval Academy. I have not received an email saying if I passed or not. Does the green check mark just mean I passed?

I have the same issue from USMA. It seems like I passed, but no actual confirmation thus far.
USMA can likely see your results, but the decision data hasn’t been posted to the candidate-facing portal yet. There are thousands and thousands of bits of info headed toward USMA during an application cycle. There are not thousands of staff.

And some dedicated soul has to watch - and count - correct-form reps on videos at USMA.

From DS2028 portal, there's two green marks for CFA video: submitted, reviewed. It starts out as red. The submitted becomes green after uploading the video, the reviewed only becomes green if you passed. The reviewed is usually yellow and may take awhile to become green. But if you need to repeat the video for whatever reason, they'll contact you to resubmit.

DS2026 portal was a bit different, I thought portal improvements for clarity were made for 2028.

Do you have official confirmation of this? During SLE, they sent out an email that said whether you passed or not.
Probably the cadet cadre emailed you. DS2026 got emails from SLE cadre. Admissions never emailed for CFA passed, the portal checkmark just turned green. OTH, Admissions commander emailed DS2028 for CFA redo for pull-ups due to form.

There is no such indication on the 2029 portal. No color, no color change on the video uploaded.. so technically no way to know whether you are passed or not. I just assume if it shows "received" on the CFA with the green mark, you've been passed. If not, they already notified you had failed??

My son (2028) took his at a candidate visit weekend. He was told at that time that he passed and he tried like crazy to get those scores uploaded to the navy portal and shared with the other academies. Eventually he just redid it because after 4 or 5 months he assumed it was lost in translation. After submittal, the checkmate turned green on USNA and USAFA once it was officially “passed”. Side note, after it was accepted by USNA, USMA admissions did two rounds of having him redo the pushups video (his form was not correct). Once they liked his pushups, the check turned green.

I would assume nothing. But if you sent it and it’s been received, keep checking weekly because there maybe some follow up. (Although a green check mark meant things were completed last year).

Admissions has tried to shorten the process to score the CFA results under the new portal. The only video required is the pullup/arm hang. A status of Submitted means nothing more, despite the check mark. Until the status says Passed, keep watching the portal.

The status says Passed? where to see that?

are you sure, I am not seeing where on the new portal it would show passed. I was told by another today that a green check mark and "received" means passed but that doesn't make much sense either. I really miss the old portal.

I sent an email to admissions about this and they said we will receive an email if we failed the CFA and have to retake it. The email didn't mention anything about if we passed it.

My son completed the CFA today and I just saw the pullup video his gym teacher filmed of him- he's facing away from the camera, his back is to the camea. Are they going to make him redo it? Has to be facing the camera the whole time? Otherwise I think it's good, no other issues, but I know from the example video they have the person facing the camera. Will he have to redo the whole CFA or just the pullups?

I uploaded mine facing away and they didn't need any additional video footage so as long as they can tell he's clearing the bar and his form is correct I think he'll be ok.

Just for clarity, you called and checked with Admissions?

Sometimes at this stage of the cycle, I recall there has been confusion over whether a checkmark simply means received, but then a later indicator appears that confirms that it has been reviewed and passed. It can be some time before something else shows up. I recall some discussion on this from previous USMA cycles.

After all, that is thousands of videos being reviewed - and counted - by a lucky soul or two. I doubt it’s a full-time job. Videos may be queued up for review.
