HPCON B and masks required again indoors.

98%, No, 0.00001, Yes
I don't think the masks are intended to act as a filter (the holes are too large, and there is no seal against the face). Perhaps the theory is that the masts divert the projection of exhaled breath? Not sure that even helps all that much either.

The thing I hate most about mask wearing is people can't see I'm snarling at them.
My glasses get so fogged up I can't see when I wear a mask. I've been saying for the last year+ that I am going to die from getting hit by a car because I can't see , especially when coming inside from the cold. The only benefit is I am comfortable that I could escape from my office if it was filled with smoke, as I go so used to walking up to my office from the parking ramp with zero visibility last winter.

Wash them with dish detergent or shampoo.

I used to do that to play racquetball.

I can say my DS went underway on a sub last week with no mask mandate. Let's just say when they returned to port he wasn't pleased to find masks required again.

I have a ‘22. Plebe hack (and mono. And strep. And pink eye) ran their normal course plebe summer and beyond….just like what’s happening for ‘25 presently.

Guess what was all but absent for my masked up, company bubbled ‘24 and friends? Plebe hack. And mono. And strep. And pink eye.

What’s different? Masks. And cohort ‘bubbles’. So there IS something to the management, that helps with illness transmissions. Not an argument about anything, but rather an observation.

Far be it from me (paralipsis) to throw in a dose of reality here. Or, as I’m trying to get my 5 year old grandson to say, what the snot, instead of what the F, just wait until dear darling has to see Doc for things not mentioned in polite company.

I know, I know, officers aren’t supposed to get those things. Rest assured however, we won’t tell anybody. The mission continues regardless of conditions.

Are you ready for some football!!!? Three year old grandson said it the other day. Learned it from his mother. Marine in training o_O

I see your paralipsis and raise you an apophasis, Doc.

Now there's a Delta Plus.

My money was on Echo. Didn’t have PLUS on my radar…

Now there's a Delta Plus.

Do they have a test for the delta plus?

At some point, I look forward to the influenza strain coming back.
