Major dilemma.

While researching in earnest for movies with bacon in a starring role (there is a movie entitled “Bacon” with people you never heard of), in my effort to add bacon richness to the Top 5 Movie thread, I stumbled across an Internet Thing.

Should I mention it in the Movie thread or here? I determined the long pole in the tent (apparently I use this phrase a lot) was bacon as the anchoring concept, so as not to derail the focus on actual movies in the other thread.

There are hits upon hits in google search results where it’s a Thing to take a movie title and sub in “bacon” for a title word. Example: “Out of Africa,” the Oscar winner autobiographical period drama becomes the dystopian horror flick, yes, of course, “Out of Bacon.” How have I missed this? Have some fun, find the lists, share some good ones, add your own.

“Apocalypse Now” >> “Apocalypse Bacon”
Just makes me laugh.
 
It's got promise as a substitute (The Maltese Bacon, The Big Bacon, The Bacon of the Sierra Madre) and as part of a compound (Baconface, Baconfellas, The Unbaconables) but it breaks down when faced with certain titles (Frozen? Bacon. Moana? Bacon. Aladdin? Bacon.) I will mull.
 
Nice. I was pondering an exception to the one-word sub rule:
“Bacon! Bacon! Bacon!”

Predator --> Baconator
When Harry met Sally --> When Harry met Bacon
Lock, Stock, and Three Smoking Barrels --> Lock, Stock, and Three Smoking Barrels of Bacon!
Boondock Saints --> Bacon Saints or Boondock Bacon
Heartbreak Ridge --> Bacon Ridge or Heartbreak Bacon
Saving Private Ryan --> Saving Private Bacon (or the Cheech & Chong version: Bakin' Private Ryan)
It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World --> It's a Bacon Bacon Bacon Bacon World

My favorite “B” actor of all time is in fact Kevin Bacon. Rarely the star, always an outstanding supporting actor — a steady yet understated player without whom them picture would lag. He’s best in “Mystic Bacon,” “A Few Good Bacon” and “Bacon 13.”
 
He also a good musician, a good guy!! I agree.

No doubt I’ve overlooked some. I like the sound of this collection, especially the idea of a Bacon Service. Far more enticing than a Space Force whose officers, I fear, in the timeless way of military jargon, will mature from space cadets to Spazos with a long “a.”
