Is retaking the CFA worth it?

Hey everyone! As of 2/26/2023 I have a green qualified box in my USNA application saying that I passed the CFA from the summer seminar CFA. I thought I underperformed by a bit while I was there. Is it worth retaking the CFA and aim to get a higher score? Or should I just leave it as it is since the CFA is more of a pass or fail thing. Is it better to just focus on other parts of the application instead of spending more time to retake the CFA?

Thanks in advance!

You have passed the CFA, but could do better.
How are you doing in other aspects of your application?
Academics?
Leadership?
Sports?

Depends on how well you did and whether you can do significantly better. Also, how active you are in sports. Suggest discussing with your BGO.

Question...where is the green box showing up?

I tell all of my students that the CFA is a 'beginning' not an end. You should commit to your 'best fitness' as a military officer candidate. Your workout routines should be 'routine' and continue throughout the school year and summer as you prepare to arrive at the Academy, or on the college campus, ready to meet the fitness requirements for either program, USNA or ROTC. If you improve in the coming months, then you can submit another CFA result.

If you only "passed", absolutely train and take it again. My DS had about an average score on the CFA, and was contacted by his USNA admissions POC in early fall to retake it, in his words, "to make him a more competitive candidate." So in a very competitive process where every point counts, I would not characterize the CFA as pass/fail. If it is possible to max out all or most of the components, you should. For what its worth, DS crushed the CFA the second time, maxing out at least 3 parts, and still did not receive an appointment.
