The other side of the coin.
The other side of the coin.
One more thing: SAF got through the 2012 Presidential election without devolving into a mud-fight between Obama and Romney supporters and has generally been free of partisan political rancor.
As to the Khans, had Donald Trump simply said: "Thank you for your son's service to our country. I join you in grieving at his loss." and left it there, that might have been the end of the story. Instead, his campaign may never fully recover from his unforced error of belittling the onstage silence of Mrs. Khan.
Donald Trump unfortunately can't get out of his own way. It's actually more painful to watch him explain why he said something. It's like listening to a child. And that's not even a statement on the Dems. Because Trump continues to "step in it", Clinton's real shortcomings (and there are MANY) aren't discussed.
I wish I could hibernate for 4-8 years...
Don't be too hasty, LITS. We might enjoy it at first, but after a while we'd come to miss you.

My best friend and I, close since Ensign escapades of the finest kind at our first duty station at NAVSTA Rota, Spain, have decided we would vote for a woman for President this year. We are contemplating writing each other's names in.
I expect he would still rather be in the White House! You reminded me of something. One night in November I came home from work, had dinner, then prepared to leave the house. My son asked me where I was going. I was going to vote for President. Who are you voting for, he asked. I don't know - who should I vote for. He responded with great emphasis "Vote for Me!" He was five years old.
Right now, he's leading his platoon on a dusty 10 mile ruck march.
I'd vote for you. To be honest, I'd vote for satan over either of these two; but I'd vote for you Capt even if we had legitimate candidates. My best friend and I, close since Ensign escapades of the finest kind at our first duty station at NAVSTA Rota, Spain, have decided we would vote for a woman for President this year.
