LOA Eligibility

Is it still possible to receive an LOA this late into the process? I am applying for WP and have seen a pretty big amount of self reported LOAs from users on the SAF.

From what I read West Point gives out LOA's for reasons only known to admissions. I don't think it's impossible to get an LOA this late into admissions, but I also do not know the likelihood of it either. Do not hold your breath on an LOA, instead do your absolute best at everything in your control, retake SAT/ACT, work hard in school, seek leadership positions, finish application, finish medical, finish noms.

LOAs can come at any time, for any reason known only to the issuing SA. DD received an LOA from one SA in January, another in February, another on April. So don’t know if there’s such a thing as “too late” to get an LOA. But in the end, as is said here often, the goal is an offer of appointment, not necessarily an LOA.

One of my friends received an LOA in December. Keep hopes up!

It is definitely possible. I just received one!

Don't worry about what you cannot control and not a necessary step in the process. Focus on finishing your strongest application before the deadline and being notified between mid/late January and 1 May.
