Does anyone know when schools allow students to sign up for classes? I have no clue.

I am assuming you mean ROTC.

Signing up for ROTC will be dependent on your school orientation, that is when you inform your school, and they will inform the cadre.

Every college has their own orientation. Most do it in sections. There is no national registration date like the SAT or like ROTC scholarships.

news so good!

To all of my friends on this thread. BELIEVE...... I had not checked status all day and was going to wait until tomorrow for the last few offers that CC told me would be released. My DS status changed:biggrin: He got his 2nd and 3rd choice. Not sure if 3 or 4 year, but at this point anything is a blessing. Im very emotional right now as this last year and especially this last week have left me limp. After DS getting to the Wait List at USMA and then getting rejected was very tough. As I said earlier, I do not pray often, but now I will do this for all of you out there in the same position. Praying for more Tuesday miracles and many more on Wednesday. Thank you all for being there and going through all of this with me. KevDawgsPop
PS.. DS did not get a Dodmerb packet in the mail last week as he had already been medically qualified by Dodmerb for USMA which carried over to ROTC.
I just logged in and as I have said I'm a newbie and this was the first post I saw. Wow what great news. You are right at this point you just say THANK YOU regardless of 3 or 4 year. I too am praying for the others. Post the stats so we can help out all the potentials for next year if you don't mind. We can be such a wealth of information for the next group. It's the least of the legacies we can leave.
Let's hope the Tues PM great news carries over to Wed AM.

I would imagine the website for the school you are attending should have all the registration information. Have you committed to a school yet. You should get registration information in the mail as well.

Just sent in my deposit today. Thanks for the info, you too Pima.

Congrads!!!! I am so glad the long wait is over for you. I hope is ends for more soon. Let us all know which school your son chooses.

re: dog gone good news

Congratulations! Miracles do happen.

Just sat down w/ my DS to discuss options now that ROTC 4 yrs seems out. His 1st choice school would have meant traveling to the ROTC program at an adjunct school. And ROO there said any "school" awards would probably go to students actually enrolled at their school. That means he will try for 3 yr at second choice. Great school, just doesn't have the specific major he wanted. After getting in to all the competitive schools he applied to, I think he thought he was "golden". It hurts that we can't come up w/ the 20K/yr btwn the school's financial aid package and actual costs (of course he only wanted the expensive liberal arts schools). He could go to the state school where he was accepted, but doesn't want to. So, life is full of hard choices and disappointments, but also opportunities. It won't be the last challange for him, but so sad after his years of hard work.

Wishing everyone the best. We emailed ROO at #2 school again (I am sure they must think we are all crazy - but what else are we to do w/ deadlines looming?). Will visit #2 again next week and meet with him in person.

Good luck all the fantastic young adults out there. What ever road you take, will be the right one for you.

So has anyone heard for sure if this is the end? My SAT score is at least 1200, I forget what the exact is. I have a 3.3 Unweighted GPA I'm top 50% in my class at a highly competitive school, four year varsity athlete and team captain this year for the swim team, and scored a 200/200 on my interview. I don't understand where I went wrong.

thank you... Very workable. DS put in much thought about his 7 choices. In his mind they were all #1's behind USMA. Funny, his #2 was a OOS 3 year, and his #3 was in state private, very very pricey 4 year award. Go figure

Tks TrpMom. I went to his school just before lunch and had guidance councelor call him to her office. I gave him the print-out for status change. His eyes welled up and I was so happy to be there when he got the news.

You didn't go wrong anywhere.

Remember there were well over 10,000 applicants this year, all with stats similar or higher then yours. Many of these applicants also applied to the Academy. Nobody knows quite for sure what put an applicant over the top, the whole process is a mystery. It looks like from the numbers given to date only about 2150 scholarships were awarded this year.

Don't beat yourself up over this, go to school and work hard to compete for a campus scholarship or even look into SMP. There are a lot of different ways to achieve the common goal.
