"You played hard. You played to the very last second. You made all us Bisons proud. You are smart. You are disciplined. You put everything you had into the game. You guys did not stop, and that is so inspiring. So you keep playing with chin up and shoulders back because you showed the world who Bison are. So I know you may not be feeling great right now, OK, but know who you are. You are excellence. You are hard work. You are powerful, and you are winners."

- Vice President Kamala Harris

The Howard Bison lost in the first round by a resounding 28 points to Kansas, but they got a great "winners" speech in the locker room after the game. :)

I was wondering if FDU won? Or Perdue lost? I know it’s semantics, but also a reality.
Listening to FDU's coach in interviews, they tried a specific game plan that was specific to their own issues - that of being the SHORTEST team in College Basketball and going up against a team with a 7'4" All American. They had a game plan and stuck to it.

Gotta love a Cinderella story….

If you listen to his post win interviews, he explains that his dad was a boxer. Fast. Quick. Decisive. And he used that in the game. Compared it to ā€˜almost’ a boxing match.

Loved listening to him. Makes me smile.

Honestly with the change in the transfer portal, it’s changed the game. It’s hard to compare teams from decades past with how much the transfer portal allows movement of players without sitting out. Teams can much quicker build a program than in years past where results really took 3-5 years. Now it can be 1-2 years. There are so many talented players who commit to big time programs and then sit or don’t blossom, and decide to love schools. Also with COVID adding a year for many athletes it has gotten even stranger. I watched wrestling yesterday and they have 6th year wrestlers against freshman. That is a 25 year old man in some cases wrestling an 18 year old. That is the extreme, but it’s nuts.

I'm pretty proud that Navy did not allow any of the extra year shenanigans and is one of very few schools to have stayed away from it.

A men’s team I watched yesterday was mostly 5th yr Covid players. Dads playing against kids is almost what it looked like 😳

Eh. Edwards Usman ppv was awesome.

I have lost interest in this boring tournament.

On to Iowa women.

(Also I had Kansas going all the way on my bracket.)
