My AROTC Application Status Just Changed :)

At this point it sounds like most of the offers for 1st board have gone out.
If I were in your son's position I would call the PMS's of his schools and talk to them. PMS's that I have spoken to were very helpful, willing/proud to discuss the average ACT/GPA of their scholarship cadets.

Your son sounds extremely well qualified, However his stats are compared to the other applicants to the schools your son listed on his application. Some schools are very popular and therefore very competitive.

So it is not really about how he scores - but how he compares.

His schools were Virginia Tech, VMI, Citadel, Norwich and UNH. I will tell him, and thank you for the quick response.
 
dmlhal15, I don't know if this helps any, but the Citadel and Va Tech were also on my son's lists of schools. He did get awarded a scholarship, but not to either of those. He had already been accepted to the Citadel too.
 
I dont know why but for some reason i cant check my scholarship application because it says that the webpage is unavailable. Anyone else having this problem?
 
holy crap so if my status thing says i may check the status of my medical qualification on Dodmerb's site then i probably got the scholarship because that is what my status is showing right now?
 
Great News....Maybe there is still time for my son too:smile: Did your son get the scholarship to Citadel?
 
I applied to the Citadel and received my acceptance letter yesterday. I just emailed my PM to see if I got the scholarship because if what the first post says is true then i just received a scholarship.
weighted GPA- 4.3 ACT- 26 SAT- 1150
unweighted GPA- 3.4
 
Wow! That is great! Maybe we will hear soon too..Waiting till January is just another test of perserverance....His GPA unweighted is 3.6 and he is taking 3 AP classes this year too...I think he is number 21 in his class out of about 250He has worked so hard, and I hope this works out for him. Thanks for the information..
 
Just checked status--it has changed to the check DoDMERB message too. Nothing on the DoDMERB site though.

Everybody check your status again, I just checked my sons and his only school listed is Princeton University,,,,,,Praise the Lord!

Welllll.......if you only have to be approved for one....Princeton would definetely be towards the top of the list. Congratulations!!!:thumb:

DODMERB Status Change

For those of you waiting...DS status page still says "Selected for interview" but DODMERB has opened account for him...so you should check again..
 
We are in the same boat here, the DoDMerb site changed to "in process" yesterday 11/22/10. The odd thing is that we got a call from one of his top 3 schools stating he was not selected with a follow-up email stating that it was just for their school.......so we are anxiously awaiting further information.

Just checked DoDMerb again and it now states "Qualified". Does anyone know if the AROTC October selection results are diseminated over a series of days or are they all sent out at once? Just curious:rolleyes:
