I would think so but it's actually ambiguous because it depends on how NJ does it. For example, say you're the best in your district and you get your congressman's principal nom. The senator then won't end up giving your their nom because you got it from someone else, so they'll end up going to the second person. If NJ's senators get second pickings after all of the congressional districts send their best, your competition may be easier because all of the best people were taken out of the pool by each district. Even though the sheer size is bigger, you may have a better shot. I assume it's kind of like early decision at a college; your competition via early decision is a smaller pool but tend to be the most competitive candidates so you may have a higher chance at getting in vie regular decision even though it would seem like the early decision is better.Aren't the senatorial nominations even more difficult to secure considering the larger amount of competition?
