And then with their final decision.
Currently mine says, "Your application is at the Marine Corps District(1st in my case) for Board review." It's probably been like that for 2.5-3 weeks now (Board was on Feb. 14th)
They do not do a great job at updating the status, in my experience anyway.
They let you know. My son was made aware via email in mid-April that he did not receive a scholarship. It was followed up a few days letter with a snail mail which also included information on other commissioning paths. It was still plenty of time to execute plan B which put him in his #1 out-of-state school as a college programmer. He had a scholarship which made it almost as inexpensive as an in-state school and he made up the difference in tuition with student loans. He won an NROTC MO side-load scholarship in Dec. of his sophomore year. Determination and hard work paid off.If you don't get a Scholarship awarded to you, do they let you know or do they just never contact you again?
Our son received an email from the MC recruiting command on his status last go around.
When I was awarded the scholarship I got a phone call from the officer who interviewed me telling me the good news.
I heard back the day after the first board in NovemberWas that this year/recently?
I heard back the day after the first board in November
Damn, it's been almost one month for me and absolute silence
A month for marine option is nothing haha. People have applied mid 2016 and won't hear anything back until up to mid april.
For an ROTC Scholarship or a Service Academy?
I would have your son check with his recruiter right away. When did he apply? My son's recruiting station always had items sent in promptly. They have been wonderful. Now, he's anxiously waiting like everyone else. This is my son's status. He sent everything so what does this mean?
Your application is at the Marine Corps District for Board Selection.
