NROTC Scholarships

Sooooo, haven't seen anything here (I don't think) about NROTC Scholarship winners (Navy option) since like November or so? Or maybe I missed some. Or maybe there have been some that just aren't in this forum. Any new recent offers here? [emoji572]

According to this thread, a board met Feb 5-9, so we might be hearing something this week. I wouldn't get too much hope up though, because also according to that thread, there are still several more boards still to come.

To all my DS said it best when I asked about looking back to this period.
He said: “I can now see mistakes that would have been easy to fix if only I had listened. Most of the mistakes were in my 2nd of college. Nothing to get me in trouble; just immaturity.”
I told him that knowledge comes from that in which we take apart and wisdom comes from putting it back together. He now has a little wisdom.

Nope, you're not missing anything. I have been checking here daily instead of checking the netfocus portal because it feels less defeating seeing no change in here Be as patient as you can. If the other thread is accurate we should start seeing things move soon and it should continue pretty regularly in to April!

Tonight, DD was notified she received an NROTC scholarship.

DS checked his portal today and discovered NROTC scholarship was awarded for TAMU.

I'm seeing a lot of selections for tier 3 this go-round, is that pretty common for them to focus on one area at a time? With dd being a nurse option applicant, I wonder if they will go through all those applications at one time?

I also noticed the same thing regarding the tier 3. I don’t have an answer for that but one of the Sr moderators or Sr parent might know.

The second board for Marine Option usually meets sometime in Feb depending on the district. Results generally come out in April.

Hey that's AWESOME! My DD is a TAMU-NROTC hopeful, as well (no word yet, crossing fingers!) Perhaps they'll be there together!

DS notified last night that he got 4 year NROTC assigned to Stanford. Still needs to get accepted...so might have to make a change request. Already accepted to TAMU Engineering but waiting on Stanford and USNA to reply. But great news on getting the assignment.

DD's NROTC assignment is UCLA - more waiting!

My DD also was awarded an NROTC scholarship, too, it was placed at Georgia Tech. She's not sure if she wants to attend there, she's thinking perhaps U-Mich, Purdue, Va Tech/ Corps of Cadets in addition to Georgia Tech. She's also waiting on decisions from MIT, Cornell and Stanford and of course, USNA. But she's already got some great choices!

There have also been a lot of recent ISR awards (including DS'), but those are still awaiting approval by the selection board and placement.
