President Trump's national security adviser resigns.

Most items above nail the previous admin to the tee except:

#6 = Successful people who know how to get things done, not Washington politicians and Bureaucrats that only know how to spend tax payers money.
#7 = What a waste of the last 8 years, Obama had the perfect opportunity to unite but instead drove a deeper wedge between groups.

Let's revisit the above in 4 years and see how things turn out.

Truly Inspired!

This is the most pathetically anti-intellectual post I've seen here in ages. That takes effort.

Back to Benghazi (it's not as trivial as the birther issue another poster equated it to) :

4 people died NEEDLESSLY. What part of that don't people get? How can that be defended?

Oh, that's right, I forgot: "at this point what difference does it make." I'm sure that statement comforted the affected families along with the "it was a video" lie..

It just blows me away at the proven incompetence, ignorance and deceit of that regime and how some people on this board are OK with that.

Yeah, no wrong doing was found, but was any RIGHT doing found? Answer: NOT YET on the wrong doing (same goes for classified emails and many other issues...)

I'll reiterate: I am so GLAD that Trump is the CIC. Hillary just doesn't care for our military.

I reiterate: answer the question. Which part of mocking a pow, insulting a gold star family, and avoiding the draft FIVE TIMES makes you think that?

You sure have a lot to say about Benghazi. And a lot to say about what you want us to think Trump believes. What do you have to say for yourself?

human life on this planet is extinguished - we deserve it.

This should probably be moved to a new thread.

There is a wide range of opinions on whether or not human life deserves to be extinguished.

I say, let's not be too hasty.

I still do not get why people keep saying " President Trump will be impeached" Folks that will be the last result. And he might just be having a rough start especially with the he ran his campaign and the shocking defeat of Hillary Clinton. Many Dems are still not over the defeat and they think they are still in a dream.

Mocking McCain and POWs overall as losers, insulting a Gold Star family, and avoiding the draft FIVE TIMES - I agree, how can Trump supporters accept this? How can he be such a strong supporter of the military after having run away from the draft? They'd be all over a Den who did this (then again his supporters haven't said a thing about his golf and the costs for securing Trump Towers in NY and his resort in FLA).

Breitbart? I know where that article will lean - Trump can do no wrong.

Indeed. I prefer the Washington Post, personally, but I have to give credit where it is due. Breitbart did report Senator McCain's speech as well

But some of those comments in Breitbart are horrible with their disrespect for McCain.

So, how do you feel about the 306 days, and over 400 rounds of golf that President Obama played while in office? I doubt President Trump, or any president for that matter will top that.

The ideological division in this country is huge. I have always wondered about the American Civil War. How could countrymen hate and kill each other? I think we are seeing how. The contempt that some of you show is disgraceful... and that is on both sides.

We have more similarities than differences. We need to find common ground and use it to work together.

There is too much fingerpointing and righteousness on both sides.

Oh my. Shall we go down tnis rabbit hole?? First of all, source please on the rounds of golf, because i think you may be partaking in fake news. Happy to retract that if you can source it.
Secondly, it is rather tiresome that any time you can't justify President Trump's actions, you resort to insulting President Obama. It is the rhetorical equivalent of "i know you are , but what am i?" I don't recall golf being the topic. I thought we were discussing Senator McCain and Admitted Harward. Lastly, if you really want to discuss golf, ibwould be happy to look up the cost of the little mar al lago jaunts for you. Or discuss his pals access to cabinet interviews at Bedminster.

You're called out President Trump for golfing. As for a source, it is public. Look it up. I do know it for a fact to be true.
I didn't say it was wrong, just pointed out that if you're criticizing President a Trump for it, you'd probably like to know how much #44 played.
So much hate...

Folks, we are getting very close to the line where we insult other posters. This thread stays open to have a civil, rational discussion about the current state of politics in the US. Keep it that way or infractions will be issued and the thread closed. Thanks.

Civil and rational. I'm all for it.

Agreed. There are crazies on both ends of the spectrum. Most of us are in the middle. I will respect anyone whose political opinions differ from mine so long as those opinions are well-grounded in the Constitution. We are a nation of laws, not men. The checks and balances that exist among our branches of government exist for a reason. Franklin Roosevelt found out firsthand the power of the court system in this country. I suspect Trump is learning some of the same lessons. (By the way, does the University of Pennsylvania teach its students US History, Government and English?)

While the mid-term elections are almost two years away, I would not be surprised if Trump is challenged by a Democrat-controlled Senate during his last two years in office. My choice for president in 2020: Secretary of Defense Mattis. The bipartisan Senate confirmed the Secretary 99-1. Mattis respects the Constitution and he understands that our sons and daughters are not toy soldiers. Further, Mattis appreciates that the press is not an enemy of the people. I am confident that Mattis would agree that a leader who actively seeks to create discord among his followers and detractors is no friend to democracy.
