Reapplying/Readmission into The Citadel

But I actually am dead serious about reapplying. I have been getting mixed answer I guess my first question is do I reapply through admissions or the register? To add more background in 2021 right before I mattruclated I had sinus surgery and my tonsils removed and my uvula removed and my tirbinites and alliinoids trimmed as well. I didn't heal fully from it up until now I have been having problems with scar tissue ever since. I feel like that may have hindered me at The Citadel.
Quick answer to your question:
I had earlier provided you the web page on The Citadel website that provides specific directions on how to apply for readmission. Here it is again: https://www.citadel.edu/registrar/readmission/

If you still have questions call the Admissions Office:

Contact The Admissions Office

Phone: (843) 953-5230 or (800) 868-1842
E-Mail: admissions@citadel.edu

OK, if you wish to reapply then go for it using the info from other posters or the Citadel itself.

I do have a recommendation: If you were my DS or DD, I would definitely being doing a series of dry runs starting this month - mock hell weeks at home where you can acclimate and ultimately prove to some extent in the mock scenarios that you can survive in such an environment and I would be setting up, daily, a series of intense workouts, holding yourself to academic rigor and very high standards for yourself - see how you do. If you can get a 4.0 in your current studies, handle a rigorous workout, and get through several dry runs, perhaps that would assist you in determining whether you should go for it again. I have hope you'll end up being a success story who went back and made it - just gage for yourself ACTUAL performance that matches what is needed. Be aware that there are MANY who want to be a citadel grad who try and fall short.

Some of my kids are military, pre-med, a pilot and athletes in competitive sports - In each of those paths there were a LOT of people who showed up on day 1 who are not making it to graduation and their next step goals. these paths are designed to weed out. So are SMCs.

We all continue to learn about ourselves in this life journey - I am convinced you want to be capable to get through the citadel and to serve as a military officer. for your reflection. some of your comments are excuse driven "why I failed" vs "how I succeeded" focused in looking back. If you shore up your performance and have that grit and confidence, you can do it - within those who make I see a resolve/ grit/determination that will pull them through when they are exhausted, doubting themselves, breaking down - a combination that the Citadel and SMCs master at creating that environment.

Lastly there are other ways to commission and serve, and non military ways to serve as well - and you can explore them as plans B-C-D too. You can still be a key contributor either as an officer through OCS/OTS or even while serving in the alphabet agencies, homeland, etc. Good luck to you.

He'llo everyone! I've got a update I went to GMC for a quarter and made it through! The deputy commandant wrote a letter of recommendation for me for The Citadel. Unfortunately I was denied admission and am apealling doas anyone have any idea on the next best steps. For reference I have a 2.3 gpa. I am thinking about going to UNG and finishing my associates degree ( I only have 2 classes to go for my associates!).
Would going to UNG for a semester then attempt again at transferring to The Citadel make since as I need 12 credit hours a semester.

Anything is possible. But if you simply look at the facts, you have washed out of The Citadel twice and are attempting to get in a third time with a GPA that is very marginal. Keep in mind that the average GPA of accepted students is around 3.7.

I commend you for the progress you have made, and I'm not suggesting you give up on your dream. That said, and given your history, what is your Plan B if your effort to gain re-admission at The Citadel is not successful? Many wise people, far more experienced than me, have repeatedly offered the advice of having a solid Plan A, Plan B and Plan C in place. Do not let your ability/inability to attend one institution define you or your future.

No one here is going to have the answers you need. I suggest calling admissions and ask them what was lacking in your re-application. As we said before - there is way more to this story, hard to give you advice. Call the school.

I agree with you 100% about there being more to the story I wish I could type it all out here. But it would be very Long.

If your application is flagged - admissions will tell you that.
