Remaining NROTC Boards

Has anyone except @LissaB gotten an update from the last board? My DS hasn't seen an update. This board has been relatively quiet!
Hello, I just received notice that I was awarded the scholarship just a couple hours ago. Not sure what regional differences have to do with the board updates, but I live in Northern Virginia. I was assuming all decisions would be released by yesterday but it appears that's not the case. Best of luck!!

There were some slight delays yesterday, and I just heard that emails are going out now. The portals may have already updated.

Same. DS has been offered an AROTC scholarship to his #1, but his dream was to be a Navy pilot. He’s optimistic about about his alternative plan, but also disappointed that he may not get this Navy scholarship after all. I feel unsettled at times and wonder if we should encourage him to find an alternative plan to join the Navy rather than take the AROTC path. However, we also feel his college experience will be exceptional…

If he's determined on Navy there is always NROTC without the scholarship. There are several chances to compete for a scholarship while in the program. That's the route DS took. Hopefully a NROTC scholarship will still come through... there's still time.

@Csmor My DS is in the same situation (except he doesn't want to fly). He's been offered the AROTC scholarship to his top school. I have been really hands-off in the whole thing, so I have really appreciated this message board to get some understanding of the process.

nope. Which leads me to believe since my DS submitted in October than he is likely an alternate. Frustrating due to the timeline as far as helping for college admissions at the very competitive schools....

My DS is already mentally prepared for the Nurse Candidate Program. This is great too, still a Navy Nurse at graduation, then 5 weeks at ODS for the material that the NROTC classes would have offered. 10K at signing and $1000 per month for 2 years. DS is already a full ride at Florida with bright Futures Scholarship.

Yes! We’ve tried not to sway our son either because ultimately he has to live with his choices. As he tries to navigate the next couple of months, I really just want to be the best sounding board I can be and support him in the right way. This is tough! We are so thankful that he has another option though, and he seems to be breathing a little easier too. This process is really stressful for everyone involved!

Jimdlt19, my nurse hopeful hasn’t heard anything either. He’s trying to just let the process play out, but getting impatient.

Thanks, so, I reached out... what a cluster... the Sr. Chief I talked to told me the chief in charge was on leave and that my son's packet was not complete... He gave me a list of things that were missing that we had done months ago (even the interview and evaluations)... I sent him emails from that chief and a PO2 that was working on it as well that said we were complete... He is looking into it... So, I'm working this situation, very frustrated.... What would you suggest I do, I'm an Army vet and wife is active duty are officer but we are new to the Navy... Who do I call to get this fixed or at least make sure that the people who dropped the ball are addressed... Thoughts?
I wonder if I may have had the same contact. (SC) Had everything in by the middle of January, but it showed a long list of items missing. I emailed numerous times and always got the canned response "I'll let you know if anything is missing". I was then referred to another contact. Apparently, the items were not processed until the middle of February when he emailed that he was reviewing all the applications. This delay has caused me to miss the end of January and early February Boards

My DS's portal still says
Selection Status
No decision has been made on your application.

Same here. The Portal still states No decision has been made. I guess I still have a chance 🤞.

I am curious to see what the most current “unofficial” Total Scholarship Numbers are at after this round of results.

Per Capt Meyers on Feb 16

Here are the numbers so far:

Total Scholarship Numbers (What will be offered once completed):
992 URL
110 ISR
79 MSI
19 Nurse Option (this is NOT NCP but it is NROTC Nurse)
Total: 1200

To Date:
1010 Applications received/processed -- ~ 700 still being processed
459 scholarships offered
382 on the alternate list
169 non-selects (next round of board results will include those not selected for this year)

Nurse Option (Not NCP):
57 applications received/processed (none in the hopper)
9 scholarships offered
15 on the alternate list
33 non-selects to be informed at the next email of board results

ISR: 49 scholarships offered
There is no alternate list here. NTAGs send their ISR choices for review by NSTC. If there are no discrepancies in the package those go straight to approval. If you are doing the math from the first set of numbers, NTAGs are working on 61 ISR nominations
