RIP Commander Spock, Starfleet Academy - Class of 2250

Back in the day, I had a "Starfleet Academy" decal on my back window. That's usually an embarrassing thing to own up to. But not so much today. Today, I'm proud of my once-trekkiness.

Had the patch, the correct color shirt...in his words it was "fascinating!"

RIP, Commander.

The Star Trek movies and all the other series have always been inspiring to me, and it's sad to see Mr. Nimoy finally pass on his katra, even though grief is not logical.

There are some people whom you expect to live forever, even as you know they won't. Nimoy/Spock was one of them. Then again, Spock does live on, especially in the lives of all those he influenced to pursue science, space, and beyond.

He also guest-starred in the "West Point Story" TV series. I'm way too young for that -- came out in the 1950s -- but there are clips on YouTube of the show. Here's the one with "USMA Cadet Spock":
