Son, a sophomore, has been asked to describe his college choice criteria for his guidance counselor. Here is what he wrote:
Yes, his grammar is appalling. My questions are, are the bolded parts correct?
and, any idea how his poor guidance counselor is going to suggest he fill that little laundry list?
Thanks.
Must have:
--- Good engineering/management programs (my eventual goal after the army is to run a business that employs and works closely with engineers, so I need both, and a combination program would be ideal.)
--- Army ROTC!!!, on the campus if at all possible
-- Swim team (does not have to be division I)
-- girls.
Important:
-- Small school (I do better academically and learn more in smaller classes)
-- School that is not a big reach for me academically (My goal is active duty commission with the US Army; If I am not accepted at West Point I will have to compete for an active duty and so I need to go somewhere that I can stay at the top of the order of merit list and swim varsity at.)
Preferred if possible:
-- Low-cost/public. My parents are saving for my tuition, but a commission is guaranteed if I am on and able to keep my grades up for the ROTC scholarship, and scholarships are easier to get if I am attending a lower cost school.
-- not an urban campus or a commuter school.
