Currently I'm being recruited for sports at Kings Point and I just got an email saying I got my nominations to Kings Point and the Naval Academy, the only problem right now is my senior year grades. My grades prior to senior year were good and I had a 3.729 cumulative through the end of junior year with a total of 6 AP classes. This year, I took 4 AP classes and I really don't know what happened. I have a D in 2 of them and a C in the other 2, and overall my gpa right now is 2.75 for this semester. School got really tough for some reason and it has been extremely tough juggling all my extracurriculars, college apps, school, and social life at the same time. Anyways, I know the Naval Academy doesn't look at senior year grades, but how badly are my chances effected of getting into Kings Point with a 2.75 gpa senior year? Do I still have a shot or will I most likely have to reapply next year because I know for a fact Kings Point or the Naval Academy is where I want to go.

I won’t speak about USMMA, but USNA can look at senior year grades. They do sometimes ask for seventh semester grades for some candidates.

No idea. It isn’t rare, but it doesn’t happen to everyone. Usually it’s because someone is taking a critical class or they are on the edge for an appointment.

Kings Point will require you to submit senior year grades for the whole year. Your offer of admission may be in jeopardy with grades of D. Can you talk to your teachers and get extra help to bring those grades up to at least C's? It is a good time to practice your time management skills which you will definitely need to perfect in order to survive at any academy. You may need to limit your extracurriculars and "social life" if they are interfering with your studying. It's all about your priorities. Good luck.

Quick Question:
Do applicants who have received an appointment still send there 7th semester transcripts ?

Yes, senior year grades make a difference, and your appointment can be rescinded for poor grades which means anything below a C.

We had to turn in 7th semester grades in order for the file to complete before application deadline, and then after that they did request the final transcript.
