SLE 2020 Acceptance?

Any theories on how they cull through the applications? First in, first out? Highest scores first? Alphabetical?

I’d wager it’s not either of those. It wouldn’t really make sense for them to do it alphabetically (and I’m also towards the end on that boat). Also per my messaging history, I was not quick to apply.

Off the charts scores? However you made it, congrats. No doubt well deserved.

It may have been my SAT score (1440), which is over the average for SLE attendees, however not something to drool over. Everything else was nothing more than average in terms of class rank, sports participation, extracurriculars.

I wish I would get an email soon about my son.
Ha, ha. My mom tries to pretend she is nonchalant and patient waiting for the decision. But i sense she is nervous. I know she wants to make sure I don’t get all wrapped up in the stress of waiting. Parents are awesome (even though I don’t always say that out loud!)

Okay I know I’m probably just being paranoid but my application says it’s still pending. Does that mean that no one has even looked at it yet?

For candidates accepted for week 1 or week 2 is there any last date by which to confirm acceptance.?

I applied very early. Mine still says pending also. Don't you think they would start reviewing the applications in order of submission? I guess I've gotten passed over for now?

For all of you waiting on your SLE decision, here's a quick story. This time last year, my son was waiting (impatiently) for his SLE decision. He was finally denied on April 9th. Fast forward to today - he has recently been appointed for the USMA Class of 2024.

So, whatever happens with your SLE application, don't think of it as an end to anything. It is truly just the beginning of a long and rewarding journey.

I applied 2 days ago and checked my email this morning to an offer. It was in my spam folder. 32 ACT (33 Superscore), 4.0 GPA UW. Many leadership positions: band, XC, class president, and some clubs. Volunteer in various community things and I’m on a special council in my school district. From a fairly rural area.
