I have seen several threads in regards to this topic and I am actually a little baffled by this trend. First, congrats on being selected to both SLE and NASS, and that goes to everyone else who has been selected to attend both. What baffles me about this issue is that the application for both clearly states to choose the week that you can "DEFINITELY" make. It says nothing about call or email the Academy if there is a conflict because you want to attend both. My thoughts are that this is an opportunity for you to see, touch, taste the academy of your first choice. I know that there are some that are on the fence about which academy they really want to go to, but deep down everyone knows their 1st preference. Therefore, I personally think that by asking an Academy to change your selected week so it doesn't interfere with another Academies summer program is not valid. I also believe that if the Academy accommodates this request that they are not holding their end of the bargain per their application process. I also feel that these types of requests deny other possible candidates of the opportunity to experience the possibilities of military life. Not trying to start a conflict, just expressing my personal thoughts. Good luck to all attending this summer.
