We got the same generic letter too:frown:he had everything they asked for . Luckily for him he was offered an appointment at USAFA which he has accepted. Glad that one came first. Good luck hope you get one of the other SA. No news is good news.
 
It still seems very quiet on the TWE front - that last one mentioned today was dated back when the rest of them came in. The family was on vacation and just got it. It has been really quiet and nothing except that MOC call in Louisiana . Hopefully it is a trend. I say it bodes well for a lot of you. The appointment thread last year went up to 120 or something like that. This year it is not yet at 100 so there are a lot more to post! Hold hands, hope for the best and prepare for the worst. Even the worst is not so bad. We have our beautiful children who will thrive in the world! It is all about what you do with your life, not really where you went to school. Love them and God bless them all,

Just interesting how things happen.
DS received the TWE from USAFA this a.m., but continues to wait for USNA response. Plan B with NROTC in place. Best wishes to everyone.

twe today

Letter came today in NJ. Somewhat stunned, DS stats 2310 SAT, 3.7 GPA, NJTROTC, region-ranked wrestler, nationally ranked academic team. Was so hopeful. Best of luck to those of you still on the island.
 
Received a BFE from DON......it was his official NROTC scholarship letter.....gave me a total heart attack (even knowing that it wasn't THICK enough for a BFE). I have had my heart work out for the day!!

DS got the TWE from USAFA today too (it was expected, we knew the appointment in our district had been accepted by someone else) and he is still excited about NROTC if USNA does not come through.

Another day on the island for us....just wish it was warm and sunny on the island.....
 
2 pieces of mail today from Navy. Opened the mailbox to see a BFE in a manila envelope, my heart stopped, return address Department of Navy Pensacola Fla, flip through the rest of mail to find TWE, return address Naval Acadamy. My son will open when he gets home from school. Reading through the envelope tells me it's the news we have dreaded. My heart breaks for my boy... :(

Oh fam, my heart breaks for your boy too. :frown: I have a feeling we will hear similar news soon enough and I am just grateful that we were able to visit his NROTC unit and he got really excited. I think that will lessen the blow a bit.

I know not getting your first choice is a disappointment. He's not interested in his West Point offer of appointment? Is he going to do the NROTC at VMI instead?
 
Boy, rough day over on the USAFA side of the house! So sorry to hear about the TWE's.

Sun and a sweltering 57 degrees in Chicagoland tomorrow, spring has got to get here some day! Very hard to visualize a graduation party when the temps are still dropping below freezing!

I was typing, hit post and come back to your disappointing news, so sorry famof8.

I too fear that the TWE is our next step in the USNA journey. This late in the game, the cards are pointing to a bloodletting of TWE's, still hopeful of course and will keep the dream alive as long as we are still on the island but the boards are not being kind.

Good luck everyone! 11 days (mail hasn't arrived yet so I'm still counting today!)
