Hi everyone! I submitted my N.A.S.S. application in January and am eagerly waiting back for a response since a confirmation email after I submitted my application said: "you will receive official notification about your status by mail no later than May 1st. Good luck and Beat Army."

I haven't received anything yet, and it's May 1st today. Is there something wrong with my email or should I hear back tonight? As of right now, I've heard nothing and am getting a bit anxious if some email was lost. I checked spam and my trash can and found nothing.

Thank you!

Good Luck- I might reach out to admissions for summer programs. My daughter applied for NASS January 25. We heard back and paid February 10th.

She got notified in the first wave because she strongly meets the target for NASS. Hope she practices and nail the CFA while having fun. Continue to work hard and be a well-rounded candidate!

Give admissions a call!

check your spam folder. My NASS email said everyone would find out by April 15th.

So does the time that you hear back mean anything? Is it a fact that these candidates are somehow more competitive for a spot?
Any info is great, thanks!

Remember that the goals of NASS selections are different that that for USNA appointments. I would not use any factors associated with NASS acceptance (or non-acceptance) as indicators of USNA applicant competitiveness. IMHO.

I'm not sure. She is an all honors and AP student with a 35 ACT, 5.0 weighted/4.0 unweighted GPA and 3 years of varsity running. She also has participated and started service organizations at her school. I consider her a strong candidate but I don't know what the USNA prioritizes. It will be an interesting ride if after summer seminar she continues on this path.

Last year my DS heard back with an email on April 15th. Many candidates get into the Academy without NASS.

MOST candidates get into USNA without having attended NASS.

I read here in the forums of a candidate that wrote to admissions back at the beginning of April with his new SAT scores and told my DS. He wrote to his recruiter and attached his ACT/ SAT and official transcripts and within a week he got accepted it.
So I agreed with @THParent that NASS is not an indicator of getting appointed to USNA later on.
One thing I have learned in these forums in the last 5 months is that it does not matter how competitive anybody can be, there is a lot of fate involved in this process.
It is heartbreaking to see so many brilliant, well rounded children not being accepted.
