We need a new thread title and something else to blame other than “The ‘Rona.” We could blame it on Putin maybe.

What's with the flavored martinis? It seems to me a few olives should be enough.
I agree except maybe if you do gorgonzola stuffed olives, then I'll bite for that. Here's a tip, never order a martini in Utah. You will 100% be disappointed, since they can serve you 1.5 ounces of alcohol in a drink. 🙄😧

Don't need a reason, no blame required, this is a happy time in a happy place.

Yes, but that would include water, so....
Ahh, but when was the last time someone said "Let's meet for drinks" or "why don't you come over and we'll have a couple of drinks" and water was the first thing that popped into your head?

Have you met my father-in-law? He called water Adam's Ale and drank heavily.

The truth is that The Rona® is what piqued my interest in trying out new cocktails at home, so I think that the thread title is still rather apropos.

My daughter is going down to visit my brand-new legal son in two weeks to have a belated 21 birthday celebration. No parents allowed! I'm just excited because my now legal son can buy that bottle of Navy Strength Plymouth Gin from Nex. I've looked EVERYWHERE, for years, for that stuff. Finally found it at NEX when my son was a Plebe. It's the only place I've ever seen it. But I had to wait until he was 21 to purchase it. It's been a very painful few years. My time has come!

This will be for martinis only. Maybe not as dry as I normally enjoy.

Twenty five months until I can send my AROTC cadet to Ft Belvoir for me!

Mmm, elegant and refreshing.

Speaking of elegant. I am fast becoming a champion of Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao.

It has all the richness and flavor of Grand Marnier, without the cloying sweetness. It's pretty fair to compare the two, because they are made similarly, with Curaçao being made with a pot-distilled brandy and dried orange peels while Grand Marnier has a cognac base with triple sec added.

...and now that I have discovered this stuff (Agavero Orange Tequila Liqueur), I'm going to try making margaritas with this, straight tequila, and lime juice.

Unlike other orange liqueurs that are generally produced with neutral grain spirit as a base, this stuff is produced with 100% tequila in Mexico and infused with orange and agave nectar. So if you put this stuff in a margarita, it's pretty much all agave. I like that!

Well, margaritas give me heart burn and tequila gives me flashbacks that aren't pleasant. But the bottle is beautiful.

Well if that is the case, try my Kamakazi recipe above. The Kamakazi is basically a vodka margarita.

I like to fly under the RADAR when I visit the yard. I was there from last Thursday through Sunday (yesterday) and I can tell you that I took a photo at the Walgreens over by Navy Bagels because...wow.

The reason that the Anejo position on that shelf is bare is because of me. I bought every bottle and asked if they had more in back.

I’ll be in that Walgreen’s later today or tomorrow picking up Rx. I’ll check to see if they have recovered.
