The Everything Drawer - Everyone has one, right? (post anything - within the rules)

This is a good one.

The letter states that officers are "more respectable" than enlisted members and that Allison's children should "only be friends with officers' children" and his wife "only friends with officer wives." He also expressed concern that his officer colleagues would not want to visit him in enlisted housing.

Probably all true but this dumdum wrote a letter to the housing office saying these things.

When I first started reading your post, I was prepared to laugh, figuring you had found an ancient nugget from decades ago, similar to the 1916 edition of a Naval Officer Etiquette Guide, from which we read aloud at the dinner table to astonished midshipmen amidst gales of laughter.

Then I quickly realized we are talking about present day, and I was horrified. Where did that nutcase learn that dreck? I haven’t heard that kind of prejudice in years. Ugh. He sounds off to me.

I'm trying to find out which corps he is in. Nurse, medical, medical service, dental ????

Gotta be direct commission, too quickly in-processed for anyone to notice the missing part of his brain.

Ah - found him, I believe. MSC. See screenshot below of iPhone Google search. I couldn’t access the USUHS link. And prior enlisted Army???
Clearly a smart guy with no common sense.

Thanks, good find. I just prowled the USNH Yokosuka FB page and one commenter said his wife wrote it. Another said he wrote the original and then wrote one with poor grammar and spelling to throw his wife under the bus.

The JOPA group on Facebook posted this about a week ago with a lot of commentary. Several folks were local and
had more info on the location/situation and none were in his favor.

The SWO world has also been chatting about this.

Two Germans are talking:

”Hey Fritz, wie war denn der Urlaub?”
(Hey Fritz, how was your vacation?)

”Gräßlich! Im Hotel hatte ich Zimmernummer hundert. Und vom Türschild ist die Eins abgefallen!”
(Horrible! In the hotel, I had room number 100 and the 1 fell off the door plate!)

Get it?

1330 is late in the day for a teacher and I'm having a "I need a Snickers bar" moment but do not have the required candy.

The coffee gods showed me favor and sent their faithful servant the retired fire captain from across the hall with a cup of fire house brew. Drinking mess decks and CPO Mess coffee, oh, and coffee concocted in the field, I thought I was beyond the "grow hair on the chest" stage of my life.

I'll tell you, this is some strong stuff.
